$1300 in fees never mentioned, felt pressured to buy a car. Expect the following on top of list price: $700 dealer fee, $943 documentation fee, $800 mandatory interior/exterior coverage, $500 mandatory anti-the Expect the following on top of list price: $700 dealer fee, $943 documentation fee, $800 mandatory interior/exterior coverage, $500 mandatory anti-theft protection. The odometer reported was 2,000 miles off what the vehicle displays. Dark soda residue was splattered at multiple places on the interior which was otherwise clean. There was an extra $1300 in apparently mandatory interior/exterior warranty and anti-theft protection tacked on which neither the salesman (Solomon) nor finance person (Brian) ever mentioned, and we only noticed because we carefully read the page before we signed. It felt intentional but they were relatively busy that day, so judgment is partially reserved though my wife and I were EXTREMELY FRUSTRATED and barely bought the car. Kai was the manager on duty and I wish I had gotten to talk to him again at some time. Full story with other details below. I do not recommend to other buyers. We drove an hour to get to Atlanta Autos because they had a great listed price on a 2013 Prius we wanted to buy. While the folks were nice, they gave the impression of not being interested in the customer, just the deal. Our salesman was Solomon. He was nice overall, but when I attempted to talk price he changed the subject and moved us to a desk inside and immediately started running the paperwork on the regular listed price which we had not discussed. While we were waiting, multiple salesmen boasted out loud in the lobby about their desire to "sell some cars today." This came across as just trying to sell people on cars as opposed to working with people to get what they need. I know there has to be some measure of self-interest, but there seemed to be little customer interest or personal concern. This only reinforced what I was experiencing by not getting to talk about the price of the car but them almost assuming i'm doing the deal and shoving me to the next step. [MOST IMPORTANT] Beyond that, when we reached the finance guy in the back, who was nice and basically straightforward, only THEN (this was 5 hours later, though some of the delay was because they were kind of busy (they never offered food or any snack or anything though we were there 2.5 hrs before and after lunch and our salesman was eating twice)) did we recognize that an extra $1300 had been tacked on that was NEVER mentioned by Solomon or Brain (finance guy). This $1300 was for an interior/exterior coverage and anti-theft protection, neither of which we would ever opt for if it were our choice. They explained something like they HAVE to charge this on every vehicle because of some kind of insurance they have agreed to about the cars in their dealership and that it was therefore non-negotiable and automatically added to every sale. Had we not carefully read the charges, we would not have seen this addition. We only still bought the car there because they had dropped the list price $1000 the night before so we felt that we were still paying a decent price for the car. As we were walking out, our salesman asked us to leave a review because "that's how he makes his money" and attempted to be very nice then. But it felt shallow and so we have left a very negative review for our overall experience. We will not return there unless the dealership makes some supreme effort to resolve this frustration and I do not recommend this to other shoppers. I will also actively advise all people in my community and circle of influence to shop elsewhere. More
