Right after Thanksgiving I lost two cars in a tragic fire that destroyed our century-and-a-half-old barn. It was a devastating experience on MANY levels, one level being the destruction of my daily driver that destroyed our century-and-a-half-old barn. It was a devastating experience on MANY levels, one level being the destruction of my daily driver as well as a classic MG that I owned -- both of which were stored/parked in our barn. I knew I needed an automobile (asap), and had heard good things about Auction Direct, so I began my vehicular search there. I ended up finding a car that I really liked (VW Jetta Sportswagen, TDI), and I knew it would be a while until we received insurance funds in order for me to complete the purchase. I informed the dealership of this fact and they, without hesitation, informed me/us that they would gladly HOLD the car for however long it took for restitution to be made, which they did. I was skeptical at first (and somewhat fearful, honestly) that it would be sold out from under me. I called/emailed several times, and each time was reassured that the car was secure, out-of-inventory, and waiting for me to be its new owner. When we picked up the car it was spotless, both inside and out. When I initially looked at the Jetta, it only had one key, and I had asked for a second key to be made and the remote programmed. The key was, along with all the vehicle's manuals etc., waiting for me when I picked up the car. Keith Mazzo worked with us throughout the transaction and was amazing (!)-- friendly, informative, communicative, and understanding (of product and our dilemma). My spouse is wanting a Tesla ... and we'll return to Auction Direct when it's time for him to get his dream car. Thanks again, Keith and **ALL** at Auction Direct for helping to make a really tragic situation have a bit of a silver lining! No pressure what so ever. Next day, I told Paul I wanted the vehicle. I sent Paul my information ahead of me getting there to pick up vehicle. Paperwork was already when I got there, all I had to do was sign. Couldn't have been easier. Paul was friendly, professional and very knowledgeable about all the vehicles I looked at. Spent time going over all the controls, which was awesome and very helpful. Took me and introduced me to the service department.
