WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! I came to Audi of Plano in January of 2021 and test drove an Audi Q5. My salesperson at the time was Wade and I’m assuming he no longer works there. I explained to him that I January of 2021 and test drove an Audi Q5. My salesperson at the time was Wade and I’m assuming he no longer works there. I explained to him that I was test driving vehicles and trying to make a selection. I wanted to test drive the car alone as I typically don’t like to ride with the dealer. He said, “no problem”. We completed the necessary paperwork and then I test drove the vehicle. I ended up buying a Honda CRV but since my income has substantially changed, I’ve decided to invest in the vehicle that I want. I’m currently comparing between the BMW X5 and the Audi Q5. Which brings me to today. After driving the X5, I wanted to test drive the Q5 again to see which one I liked better. I entered the dealership and was immediately connected with James Benjamin. James was pleasant and helpful. I explained to him that I do not want to drive the vehicle with a salesperson in the car. I also wanted to have them appraise my car while I was test driving so that I could see what my car would come in at. Like Wade, James took all of my information and then went to the back to get the keys. I also informed him that I was on my lunch hour so I didn’t have a ton of time. I was then approached by Murad Marisay (sp) who informed me that he would be appraising my car and would be getting numbers, I said ok, no problem, I wanted test drive the car before all of that to see if it was something I liked better than the X5. I was then informed that in order to test drive the car, I would have to sit down and go over the numbers (i.e. payment, etc). I told him that I was on my lunch break and I didn’t have time for that. He told me that I would have to come back and make an appointment to go over the numbers if I wanted to drive the car. I informed him that I wasn’t concerned about the payment, I wanted to DRIVE the car to see if I even liked it. Prior to James coming back with the keys, I presented all of my information - which James showed him. He was in possession of my driver’s license (address information), phone number, email address and he even had a copy of my current insurance card. I had to be very direct with Murad to tell him that I wasn’t ready for all of that. I simply wanted to DRIVE the car - which is not illegal and not uncommon for someone making a $50k purchase. I can also understand if it is Audi’s policy to have the dealer in the car but after coming here last year, I KNEW this was not the case. Further, in case Murad is completely ignorant of what’s happening in the global news, we are in the middle of a pandemic - why would I want to be in close quarters with someone like that? After finally making it clear to Murad that I would not be allowing him to go over payments just to test drive a car (which is ridiculous), he hastily left advising James to “get her license and insurance” and then yelled out “run her LexisNexis, too”. First of all, I never signed anything allowing the dealership to run anything, two is this how your dealership treats African-American female customers? Did he not think I could afford the car and didn’t want to waste his time? James explained to me that there had been a recent ring of thefts in the area from individuals coming to test drive cars and then sending people to steal them. What on earth does this have to do with me? Is this how your white customers are treated? What does that fact that there is crime in the area have to do with me wanting to test drive a car? Is THIS what customer service has come to? I have test driven vehicles at Mercedes and BMW all within a ten mile radius of the Audi store and have NEVER experience such blatant discrimination. This was probably the worst experience I have EVER had at a dealership. The worst part is, I liked the Audi better. After this experience, I wouldn’t buy a stick of gum from your dealership. More
Mason Bullard was excellent through out the process from test drive to drive back home with new Audi. He always made me feel that he is at my side in all negotiations including trade in etc. I would reco test drive to drive back home with new Audi. He always made me feel that he is at my side in all negotiations including trade in etc. I would recommend connecting with Mason for your future purchases even you are not certain in buying a vehicle, never felt like he is pushing us. The follow ups he is making with us post purchase also amazing and feels like his job not ended there at showroom. More
