Had a list of repairs needed before I drove it off the lot. Agreed to a few necessary safety items and took delivery. As soon as I get on the highway, gas light comes on. Two days later check engine light comes on. Faulty gas gauge sensor. Simple enough. Call dealer and since I got such a "great" price on car and they spent any allotted money on repairs before I took delivery that they weren't going to help me. (wheel bearing, muffler replacement, rear seat broken) So I had no idea how much gas was in the car or when I would run out. Fantastic. A few weeks later the car starts chugging and stalls on me. Great. No use in calling dealer because I refused an extended warranty at the time of purchase and Limited Used Vehicle Warranty is null and void since they only guaranteed a sticker. Run code and it is for camshaft sensor. Ok. $45.00 and a hour later its installed. Clear check engine light. Drive car the next day, car stalls. THREE TIMES. Check engine light comes back on. We change the throttle body. $200.00. Now I'm getting upset. Drives okay or a few days. Guess what??? CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AGAIN. Chugging, stalling, check engine light. Go to change oil even though only a few thousand miles put on it. THEY NEVER CHANGED THE OIL OR FILTER LIKE THEY SAID THEY DID AT DELIVERY!! $50.00 in parts there. {Petrified to drive car so it sits for a month) Car drives okay or a week. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AGAIN. Do a ton of research to see what it may be. SVT sensors. $185.00 there. Replace those and now its smooth again. Bring to shop today to get quote for exhaust noise. Needs two new exhaust manifolds, both sides. AND a new muffler. Won't pass inspection. Risk leaks and exhaust fumes coming into car. Cannot afford another repair. So I am OUT $6697.00. This includes a "credit card fee" they charged me at the time of sale because I told them it would be a cash deal. Husband overheard Dwayne telling Joe that if I don't pay the fee to not sell me the car. They wanted me to bring the cash in before I even looked at the car! I have worked in the car business for a long time and have NEVER charged someone $187.00 credit card fee. It doesn't exist. AMEX charges the merchant a fee to run their cards. That's it. So all said and done I am starting the arbitration process and almost don't want to because they are going to come back with every excuse in the book to not refund me or help me at all because of lemon laws, limited use warranty, paperwork I signed. Bull S. No good faith. Just selling cars, making money and moving on. Nice work Auto Country. Do not recommend unless you are a good mechanic and have deep pockets to pay for repairs. More

But when I bought the car the AC compressor was leaking and we spoke about having it replaced later in the Spring but when I came to pick up the car I was told it was replaced and they wanted me to put $100 towards it to help pay for it which I did and I didn't complain about that. Now several months later the compressor is making a noise, we thought it was the AC clutch. I figured since it was a new AC compressor we shouldn't be having a problem with it after only using the AC for about a month. I called the service department to see what they could do and basically was told it was more than 30 days and they wouldn't do anything and that she could just continue to run her AC to stop the noise being made and since my brother was mechanic he could fix it. So I did have my brother look at it and it ended up not being the clutch it's the ac compressor.... my brother was the one who originally noticed it leaking and when he looked at it again said it was never fixed or replaced, so I basically gave them $100 for nothing. More

I found a 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis on line which was very similar to her previous car. I spoke to sale man Steve Damata on the phone before driving over an hour to see it. It was exactly as Steve described it. We made a fair deal that day. They serviced it and even did an entire brake job on it. Picked it up 2 days later. Steve was great to deal with no BS. Auto Country DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES - UNETHICAL I searched for the vehicle I wanted and was very specific that I needed an SUV and wanted it to be white. I have voice mails and text messages te prove the unethical actions that took place.. I am a grandmother and wanted a safe vehicle to drive with her. I put 1/3 down so I would have a small and short loan. The safety problems began 5 weeks after I made the 1st payment and I was told to purchase the parts and I would get a discount on the labor. The mechanic was so nice but unfortunately he has to do what Dwayne the GM tells him and Dwayne can't make a move without the owner Michael Fagans authorization.. The owner refuses to call back any clients and he sits up in his office and make Dwayne do all his dirty work. My health problems have gotten worse due to cancelling appointments because of no transportation. The car won't pass an inspection right now and I can't drive it because of the extremely deafening noise that is coming from under the drivers side I already have had to fix 6 safety problems and now the drivers side door won't close also. I have dealt with Dwayne when the 1st problem happened and have left messages 1-2 x a month and have date time and who I spoke to. The worst call was the owner who swore at me, tried to degrade me and finally hung up on me. I didn't know it was the owner at the time but have since found out. I am gathering names of other unhappy clients and if my situation isn't resolved all the stories are going to be exposed and not only online. I am only asking for what I deserve. There are local businesses that are willing to back me up as well but I am not looking to be hateful I just want my vehicle to be safe and I am able to drive. I had Brain Surgery for Trigeminal Neuralgia and I can't tolerate the deafening noise and the stress of all this is contributing to my MS attacks (Multiple Sclerosis). I will keep you informed if Auto Country's owner has a heart and handles my situation. There are so many people that have offered to picket and allow me to tell their stories but I have tried unsuccessfully to get Dwayne or Michael to return my calls and now I am posted my complaints and if nothing is done then I will flood the sites with other customers names and stories. If they do the right thing and take care of my situation then I will remove my complaints. This is my story and it needed to be told. .2x the idler Pulley broke, the alternator dropped and the Serpentine Belt came off while I was in the left lane on the highway and could of been killed cause the car made a huge noise I thought I was struck by a rock and the car wouldn't move and my girlfriend had to hang out the window and flag cars to allow me to coast to the breakdown lane. The 2nd time the same thing happened and it was on Thanksgiving and we had to have the car towed from Cambridge and pay $156. Talk about ruining our holiday. That is only 2 of many safety problems.
