I called the lot, asked if they had any Limited on the lot, and the reply was yes, we have several. I drove 80 miles out of my way (I was coming from another dealership in Mass that decided to play games after I got there and was headed home. I live in Maine.) When we got there, we were told that Hyundai doesn't make them in indigo night and they didn't have any Elantra Limited with a tech package on the lot. Strike one. I understand some dealerships have to lie through their teeth to get people on the lot, and we found another) From there, I told the sales manager that I had tried other lots, had been getting games and wasn't going to play any. I had a check in my pocket, a trade in that I wanted at least$6k for (retail was running $12k for the condition it was in, I did my homework) and we sit down. After agreeing to a dealer trade we started talking numbers. Immediatly he starts writing things down that I am required to pay for. Pin striping, gold premium membership, maintenance program...one, I didn't want pin striping on my new car. After seeing it on another car, it looked xxxxxxxx. Two, I live almost an hour away and am about to transfer to another duty station. I tried a couple of times to interject that if this car was being brought in from another dealer, I didn't want any of this extra crap and he attempted to talk over me. Finally, already not happy with driving out of my way on a lie, being talked over, being forced to pay for something I didn't want, I walked out. On my trip home, I received a phone call from Somersworth Hyundai. Read my review of them on here. Let's just say, after dealing with Somersworth, I now have an indigo night (but they don't make those do they?) Elantra Limited with tech package and I paid a fair price and received a fair amount on my trade in. Would I ever consider walking on Autofair in Manchester again? Not a chance. More
My overall experience with Adam Donovan was very positive. His demeanor and willingness to please was excellent. We tests drove four cars in two consecutive days. A coworker of mine recommended that I speak to Doug when I was looking to purchase a new car. All I can say is that I am glad I took her advice. While everyone understands that the car business is a sales business, Doug tries to develop a relationship with those he works with, something that is generally lacking in the auto sales industry. If given the opportunity, I wouldn't hesitate at all to recommend Doug and Autofair Hyundai to anyone who asked. It was a great experience overall and I got my new car at the price I wanted. A good friend recommended this dealership and salesman Doug Johnson. Doug asked a lot of questions about what we needed and what options we wanted. He showed us several models. We care for my elderly parents and needed a vehicle that was not only comfortable for us but able to transport them and my moms wheelchair. Doug spent a lot of time with us making sure these needs would be met. Everyone at the dealership was very friendly. Doug also took the time after we purchased the vehicle to set up my phone with the bluetooth and go over all the options and answer any questions we had. We would definitely recommend this dealership and Doug Johnson to our friends. More
MY LETTER TO THE CUSTOMER CARE REP THE DAY AFTER MY VISIT: Michelle, Honestly had I had a little bit less of a worse time at your dealership I probably wouldn't be writing this email, but your VISIT: Michelle, Honestly had I had a little bit less of a worse time at your dealership I probably wouldn't be writing this email, but your sales rep sure did go above and beyond my normal expectations of how pushy and dodgy a car salesman could be. I first had a base model Veloster waved in front of my face, to only find out that the only one you had on your lot was sold. I then, to test my fit in the car, took a higher packaged model out for a test drive. I loved the car but I couldn't even begin to start piecing together a deal because of how hard your rep was shoving the car down my throat. I feel my trade was undervalued, your markup was far too high (not to mention the "value adding" package that I couldn't opt out of), and the whole process was more of your reps/manager churning out a generic sale than me having a buying experience. When I got up to leave I was badgered out the door and then realized my keys had not been returned to me promptly. After the keys had been returned I began searching for my car which was parked out of sight in a different part of the parking lot than I had parked it. I then, against my best interest went to Auto Fair Honda, to search for a civic coupe. I was greeted there by a down to earth and approachable sales rep by the name of Ron. He was very accommodating and worked starting below sticker to get us the best price possible. It turned out that we couldn't work a price that worked for both parties so again due to too much markup, too little for my trade, and pushy management I left. TAKE NOTES ON THIS PART: at 4:45pm on a SUNDAY I arrived at Peter's Honda of Nashua and walked in the door asking for a Civic Coupe LX in Charcoal Gray. I was greeted promptly, asked why I looked so beaten up, and then they TOOK CARE OF ME! They took YOUR PRICE and got me financing that was $45/mo better than any offer I had seen that day. Four sales people and a manager stayed after hours to close the purchase and I drove home in exactly the car I knew I wanted. So I thank you for making it very easy for me to spring for a purchase at Peter's and I'm sure they thank you too for making them look so good. Never again will I consider purchasing an automobile from you or your partners because of this horrid show of service. Your diction in your email is blasphemy as I did not receive ANY of the things you bragged about in that opening paragraph. More
This is the 3rd car I purchased from Doug Johnson/Autofair Hyundai. Each time Doug worked hard to get the vehicle to the price I needed with out making me feel like I had to spend more or ch Johnson/Autofair Hyundai. Each time Doug worked hard to get the vehicle to the price I needed with out making me feel like I had to spend more or change to a lesser vehicle then I wanted. This last vehicle was a 2011 SantaFe Limited. I never thought I would have a loaded vehicle like this. Doug even put in a remote car starter (monthly deal offer). Thank you Doug for making the car buyer experience a truely great one. More

I had come to see Doug earlier this year to talk to him about purchasing a new car. I didn't have enough money to make any real financial decisions at that time, so he said to me, "Come back at the end of about purchasing a new car. Two weeks ago I leased a 2012 vehicle all with the help and constant friendliness and love from Doug. He made this experience extremely stress free, even when I would overthink every detail. He honestly made this one of the easiest financial experiences I have ever had to deal with. I wouldn't go to any other dealer because Doug is truly a part of my family and I can honestly say that he is the salesman with a heart. A BIG heart! You can tell that he loves his customers, and you can tell that they love him. It's nice to know that you can just stop by with a coffee and sit down with him and chat about what is going on with your life, all because you feel that he truly cares. He is the best car salesman to work with in the industry! Wherever he may go after his days at this company, I will absolutely follow him. Gotta love Big D! He's the best! More
Doug is a great person to deal with and has remained a friend. He sometimes calls us just to say "Hello, how you doing". I like the page he does monthly and sends to his customers. Miguel came from the Ford dealer and I remember he was always very pleasant to work with. I am glad he came over to Hyundai. He is very caring to customers needs. More
