Took my truck in to get a recall fixed, oil change, and look into an issue with the door not unlocking. Took 2018 Impala to have transmission inspected due to shifting and revving issues. Result of inspection was that transmission needed to be replaced at a cost of over $8,000. Received second opinio shifting and revving issues. Result of inspection was that transmission needed to be replaced at a cost of over $8,000. Received second opinion from private mechanic who discovered transmission is fine. The issue was a bad torque converter, a much less costly, yet still important repair- in the neighborhood of $500-$700. This was never brought up in inspection performed by the folks at Autonation Chevy. The result is, I saved over $7k by having a second opinion when I thought taking to the dealer for a significant mechanical problem would be the best option. More
