There were several problems: I traveled 190 miles to make this purchase and things were going well until the dealership finance manager insisted that I needed the VIN# of the vehicle I was purchasing on a my this purchase and things were going well until the dealership finance manager insisted that I needed the VIN# of the vehicle I was purchasing on a my current insurance policy or else I could take the vehicle off the lot. They did not tell me this in advance.Since it was on Saturday I was unable to contact my insurance broker to add the VIN# to my current policy. The salesman however advised I could contact a friend of his to start a new auto policy and get the car off the lot and I could cancel the policy in 3 days. Since I needed the car I took out a new auto policy which included a deposit and completed the purchase. When I returned home I went to my insurance broker who told me that the a new insurance policy was not necessary but was a duplication of my existing policy and he sent a cancellation notice to the agent who issued the new policy. I am still trying to obtain the deposit a gave to the agent and the insurance company. The second issue is the salesman never mentioned that this vehicle's sunroof had a leak problem and had stained the headliner in rear left compartment area. This fact should have been disclosed when I first asked about the car. I am taking the car to a local dealership to check the sunroof issue. Finally after having the car for about a week I found insects crawling over my car hood and I called in an exterminator who stated they were "crazy ants" and had been the car a while. The exterminator treated the car for $125 and hopefully this will solve the problem. Bottom line this dealership has treated me unfairly by by not disclosing the insurance requirement "before" I came down and by not disclosing the sunroof leak and bug problem. I would proceed with caution with this dealership. More
