Terrible experience. Made service appointment for defective tailgate latch on F-150. Received recall for tailgates opening on their own. Their scheduling department informed me that everything was covered at no cost and that they had my VIN number and would order in the parts and have them at the Steelership for the repair. Received a text and then a call asking me why I brought the truck in for repair. Then was told there would be a $150 mandatory diagnostic charge, then they wanted over $560 plus tax because the part required was not included in the recall. WTH. Told them not to do any work on my truck. Would be picking it up and was informed again about having to pay the $150 plus tax diagnostic charge. Told them that I was lied to and would not be paying them anything. They listened to the recording of my conversation during the service scheduling and realized I was lied to and decided not to charge. Ashley did a great job in helping to resolve the nightmare. 5 stars to Ashley! Brought the truck home and purchased the required OEM part online delivered in 24 hours for $64. NEVER go to any Steelership unless it's under warranty and then check their work to confirm it was performed properly! They should have compensated me for the aggravation and wasted time. Took me less than 30 minutes to complete the repair. More

I took my son because I wanted to buy a car for my granddaughter for her birthday. This salesman let us look alone, we test drove a couple and THEN asked for his help.
