My brother went with him because he is 85 yrs old, and we wanted to make sure he was taken care of and not taken advantage of. The whole experience at AUTONATION HONDA O’HARE was very positive. Dec 2024 – My dad side swiped the car and hid the accident from his family. Instead of having it repaired for a reasonable amount of money, he went back to the AUTONATION HONDA O’HARE, by himself, to trade-in the new car with 1700 miles on it for the exact same car. The base price of the car was $34,000. The damaged car was taken as a trade-in for $18,500 and then the exact same car was sold back to him for the base price $34,000 for an additional out-of-pocket cost of $20,000 after all of the taxes and extra charges including an appearance protection charge of $899 on BOTH cars…they didn’t even transfer the car washes from one car to another that he will now never use. Does that sound like a reasonable transaction made between AUTONATION HONDA O’HARE and an elderly man alone? April 2025- We were very careful supporting my dad for as long as we could. I had to invoke Power of Attorney due to a medical diagnosis of vascular dementia. Imagine our surprise when we discovered this had happened. Now my brother and I have a less than 6-month-old brand-new car with less than 500 miles. On May 3rd, 2025, we went to AUTONATION HONDA O’HARE to give them a chance to make it good. To buy the car back at a reasonable price since this whole 2nd transaction did not feel good. We were offered $27,500 and we asked them to reconsider. Instead, a stranger came out of the back office and said he just hung up the phone with the Comptroller and that for us to sell this car back to them, we needed an attorney’s letter with the VIN# of the car indicating I have the right to sell it and then asked me if I had such a document. They did not ask for my documents. I am already Power of Attorney and did not require such a document. He said it was AUTO NATION POLICY. They made money on the sale. They made money on the trade-in. They made money selling the trade-in they fixed to sell as a used car. They made money on the second sale. They wanted US to spend MORE money on an unnecessary attorney fee. We were only giving them a chance to make it good. More
I went for an oil change and ended up having to have some additional services done and I would have preferred to have known about the additional services at the time I had made the appointment! Everyone is so nice there they call me by my first name which is nice. We’re like a big family. They take care of you when you are coming in for service. Horrible. I came to buy a car and was given an OUT-THE-DOOR price for a Honda Odyssey ($44,100) on the phone, right when I walked in the door. Rachel confirmed it for me, my husband, and my father. After we test drove the car and waited about 45 minutes, she gave us a new price of over $48,000?!? She acted like we were crazy to think the price she told us was correct. No apology, no explanation, no accountability. Horrible. There may be honest salespeople at this location, but Rachel is not one of them. More
