I sold my car to Honda Automation after no longer needing it for business, and what should've been a simple transaction turned into a frustrating ordeal. I had to make three separate trips back to the dealership to redo paperwork, each one costing me an hour of round-trip travel from my house. Some of those earlier visits were needed just so they could get the correct payoff amount from my lender. On the third visit, I was called in by Tom to re-sign the odometer disclosure. During that visit, it came out that a detail had been missed and the entire process needed to be restarted. I was frustrated but tried to stay understanding — mistakes happen. What I couldn't accept was what came next: the dealership tried to ask me for additional funds to cover a shortfall caused entirely by their own paperwork error. I asked to speak with manager Kirk to sort it out, since this was clearly their mistake, not mine. He refused to make it right and said it wasn't in his power to cover the difference. What made it even more frustrating was that another representative assisting me actually offered to cover the gap out of his own pocket rather than see me shortchanged — but the dealership itself refused to take any responsibility for its own error. I appreciated that rep's effort to make things right on a personal level, but a dealership shouldn't need an employee to volunteer his own money to fix a mistake it caused. I also brought my car back a few days later with concerns and Molina my service advisor was fantastic. While I can’t speak for everyone’s experience I can tell you mine was A++++, top notch, and trust me as someone in their 50s who has purchased plenty of cars in their lifetime I did lots of research and test drove quite a few cars from Olympia all the way to Everett and everywhere between. My 2nd visit back to autonation for the same vehicle sealed the deal and I am beyond happy with my decision, my purchase and the exceptional service from Nhat and Jeff. Have you heard about 2% charges being applied by Honda dealers to customers on services? Yes, it’s true at AutoNation Honda Renton. There is no mention anywhere on their website about a 2% credit card dealers to customers on services? Yes, it’s true at AutoNation Honda Renton. There is no mention anywhere on their website about a 2% credit card processing fee. However, after my regular car service, at the time of delivery/payment, I was asked to pay an additional 2% charge for using a credit card. This kind of last-minute fee is not acceptable. If such charges exist, they should be clearly disclosed upfront instead of surprising customers at checkout. I haven’t seen this practice at other Honda dealerships. This experience felt misleading and disappointing. I hope they improve transparency and communicate all charges clearly in advance. It’s’ nothing wrong with the employee who worked for service. More
