I took in my 2006 Tacoma because I was occasionally hearing a clunk in my front end when braking. Plus, there is a recall for a leafspring issue. They said they could not find a reason for the clunk hearing a clunk in my front end when braking. Plus, there is a recall for a leafspring issue. They said they could not find a reason for the clunking and did not hear a clunk when test driving it, but they did recommend replacing my lower control arms. I asked the cost and I was told $1700.00. I asked if it was necessary to replace immediately and what would happen if I didn't. They told me if I decide to wait I could start hearing a clunk when braking. Well that was the issue I brought it in for, yet they said they couldn't find the issue. Anyway, due to the high cost of replacing the lower control arms, I told them to only do what was required for the recall, which was replacing the leafsprings. Then I would get the lower control arms replaced at my usual repair shop(not Autonation Toyota). My usual repair shop charged me $900.00. But, the worst part was, they discovered the bolts on the new leafsprings were not tightened properly. I will never take my car to Autonation Toyota again. More
