This dealership is friendly and has exceptional customer service, in particular Hugo, my salesperson. I could not be happier with the customer service, details of my purchase and explanation of the feature service, in particular Hugo, my salesperson. I could not be happier with the customer service, details of my purchase and explanation of the features of my BMW X1. I would recommend if you are in the market for a BMW or a used car they have available, please give them an opportunity to earn your business. Certainly the most positive car buying experience I have had. More
Their Service department is the worst. If you need an oil change, break pads or wiper replacement go there. If you need anything more that like an alignment or something a bit more complicated ..Good lu oil change, break pads or wiper replacement go there. If you need anything more that like an alignment or something a bit more complicated ..Good luck, my advice is to stay away. For example, they recommended 2alignment within two moths or less the 2000 miles apart from each other. This bad alignment caused the front tires to get damage irregularly. Their assessment was that it was a regular wear??? in 2K miles the tires go from being good to that bad after their bad alignment. Thankfully they found something in one of them that was paid by the tire warranty. However I had to pay for one tire that was damage by their bad alignment. I ask for an explanation of what happened, as of right now, I am still waiting. After many talks to their service person and service manager, I was promese to be reimbursed for the cost of one alignment ( Eventually I had to talk to the general manager to get the money back). The reason given by the service manager for not paying the promise amount was: "oh, I think it got to my desk but I might have never seen it". I got the service engine light on after driving my new X5 for about 15K miles, to make the story short, it took them at least 3 tries (3 visits) to get it fixed right. At about 20K miles I told them about a problem that car starting having when changing gears, I made a wide turn or stopping. As of today they could not find a problem with the car. When it got rally bad that it was doing it every time it shifts gears and eventually (might have) damage the transmission (the car would not move or go into reverse) the service manager decided not to rely on their electronic machinery and decided to take a drive with me. His assessment during the drive was that it was caused by a bad linkage box, I left the car there, a week later after I called a few times, because they could not find my car in the system, I was finally informed that they had to change the transmission. After, I got the car back, with the new transmission the problem that I took the car in for, was still there. I took the car back and they told me that I had to drive it for a few days and that it would go away (this was their actual answer), I made them note that I this was the same problem I had months before they changed the transmission. However, me still believing in their expertise, I followed their advice, as you might expect, afer about 4 days the problem did not go away. I took the car back, I ask if someone would take a drive with me so that they would experience the problem, however, they said that no one was available to do that but that the service manager was going to drive it home to check it. two days later, after they did their "thing" , their assessment was : There is nothing wrong, and the problem you experience when you stop and when the car changes gears as you keep driving it and that would go away. I thought the service manager assessment was that it was a bad linkage box. As of today, I about 1500 miles away from the warranty being over, still driving it, hoping that magically this problem will go away. It is really scary when I make a wide turn, the car shakes badly, when I stop the car has problems going into the lower gear, when I start driving the car has problems shifting from the lowest gear to the highest (and getting worse) and sometimes all the windows and hatch opens by themselves. By the way, if you are lucky enough to get a defective car like this and follow their advice to keep driving it till the problem goes away, don't expect that BMWUSA will help you out. BMWUSA rely on their assessment, therefore, they said " you have to wait till the problem goes away". Any person would expect the selling dealer to at least look out for their clients as any store would do. I made the mistake of relying on their ill advise, DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID. Now, I have to get rid of this car to avoid any further losses, BMW of alexandria did not help or take any resposability. If you got a good car from BMW of Alexandria so that you only had to do oil changes, replace brake pads and regular checks, you are very lucky. If you are sold a defective car as in mi case, you are on your own and don't expect to get any help, advice or get any more complicated car problems fixed at BMW of Alexandria. Overall advice: STAY AWAY from this dealer!! More
We arrived at the dealership w/our own financing and the desire to buy a 2014 black on black.BMW X3 28i. We were in the dealership a full 10 mintues before anyone said anything to us. Kamal finally approa desire to buy a 2014 black on black.BMW X3 28i. We were in the dealership a full 10 mintues before anyone said anything to us. Kamal finally approached us and I explained what we were looking for. He said that the dealership did not have any 2014 BMW black on black X3 28i's at all- "The go to fast." The also did not have any 2013 or 2012's because BMW only changes cars every seven years (xxx?). Needless to say, this was not going well and I was definately at the point of walking out, but then he miraculously found a 2014 BMW X3 28i, but it was black and beige..he suggested that we test drive the car, which took a full 25 minutes to bring around, which I guess was okay for Kamal because he started helping another customer while we waited. The car was brand new and my husband helped remove the plastic. We go for a test drive, decide this was doable and asked could they move the price down by $1000-$2000..he said he "would check" (not my first time buying a car and I knew that it was already a bad situation, but wanted to be paitent and give him the benefit of the doubt; after all he took the time to explain his Morraccan heritiage (unsolicited I might add); but wanted to be polite). We decided we were going to buy the car, but then guess what - the old BAIT AND SWITCH - he comes back and says that the car was sold while we were test driving it...REALLY? xxx? BUT, he had another car that was not the same color, model or price ($7000 more) and he tells me that I should take the deal..it is the best deal, fully loaded and because his boss feels bad for what happened he is giving us a good price..really? I am instulted that he thought we were that stupid. But I thank him, because we ended up purchasing a brand new Audi Q5 and I love it! So, Kamal, misjudged us, but our Audi sales rep (Manny) was the true epitome of a professionalism and I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND BMW OF ALEXANDRIA OR KAMAL TO ANYONE INTERESTED IN PURCHASING A BMW...GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Paul provided outstanding customer service throughout the car buying process. I went to the dealership looking for a used BMW. I wasn't a 100% sure which type I wanted before I went into the dealership. Pa car buying process. I went to the dealership looking for a used BMW. I wasn't a 100% sure which type I wanted before I went into the dealership. Paul explained the pros and cons associated with various different models and let me make the choice. He did not have what I wanted the first time, so he took my email/phone number and told me he'll call me when he has the car I'd like to purchase. Sure enough, he did call back a few days later and had the fully load perfect car with all of the features I was looking for. I went see Paul the same day, talked about the price, and left there with a car in a little over an hour. He worked with me in finding the right car for the right price. I really liked the fact that he wasn't pushy; did not try to influence my decision; and just facilitated the process. This is perhaps the best car buying experience I have ever had. Paul does a wonderful job from beginning to end and is very forthcoming and helplful throughout the entire process. I would definitely go back to this dealership and this particular salesperson for next purchase. More
Paul H. Blakeman my BMW salesman was nice, kind, and really went out of his way to make sure that I got exactly what I asked for. He didn’t try to push any other products or add-ons. Today I scheduled an appointment to talk about my options for a new BMW with Paul Blakeman. His amazing preparation and willingness to listen helped me walk out with my perfect car in a few hours. So Paul was reccomended to me by two of my co workers. I was at the very start of looking for my "mid Life crisis car" He was very responsive on emails but never at any point was he pushy or overly annoyin was at the very start of looking for my "mid Life crisis car" He was very responsive on emails but never at any point was he pushy or overly annoying. After a few months of research i was all most about to buy a Cadillac ATS when a dealership gave me numbers that actually beat Paul on the quote he gave me for a 328ixdrive. They assured me the deal was sound and all i had to do was come sign papers. After talking to the sales person repeatedly to assure it was as simple as sighing papers a minute before i was going to walk out the door with my wife to go there the Cadillac Finance department called me with questions. And told me that the deal had never even been brought to them. I was furious! So i called Paul to ask him if the numbers he gave me were real and if i was going to have to wait for finance or other BS to get it done. He told me to just bring a pen. Now i had not chosen the exact car i wanted and just told paul some of the options i had to have and colors i was interested in. When i got there with the family Paul had found a Perfect silver 328i x drive that met all my demands. And made a bet i'd like the silver the best. And he was totally right. So waited a whole 10 minutes and the business office was ready for me and my wife to sighn papers. It took all of ten minutes. My wife left with the kids to shop and i stuck around to take delivery of my new baby. Paul showed me all the tricks and toys of the car and could not have been any more helpful and open. I will send all of my friends to Paul when looking for a car. Just an amazing experience all around and i cant reccomend him enough! More
Pauk Blakeman efficiently provided an internet quote to me for a 2013 BMW X1 xDrive28i. Among the four Northern VA and MD suburb (Sterling, Fairfax, Rockville, and Alexandria) BMW dealers that I received me for a 2013 BMW X1 xDrive28i. Among the four Northern VA and MD suburb (Sterling, Fairfax, Rockville, and Alexandria) BMW dealers that I received quotes, Fairfax was the winner (lowest out the door price, including all taxes and fees). Paul Blakeman is the worst loser -- he will inundate you with SPAM e-mails, even knowing that you have placed an order with another dealer. Repeated attempts to remove myself from his SPAM have been fruitless -- thank goodness for SPAM filters. I have never encountered another car salesman that will ignore your requests for stopping contact, and continue with an incessant barrage. Paul Blakeman and BMW of Alexandria -- not a very ethical or professional way to conduct business or attract customers. More
