Paul also creates an environment that is more "consultative" than "sales-ish", and I could always just sense that I would end up with the right BMW at the right price. Paul even remembered my wife likes coffee and gave us a BMW coffee tumbler when I picked-up the car. Paul handles the big things--what car, how much--and also handles the little things. This was my first experience at BMW Arlington. After two whole weeks of shopping around, I finally found Paul "the car guy". Did not try to point us to a higher priced model. Actually suggested the lower priced options. Tried to ascertain our needs and point us in the right direction and all the available rebates and incentives. We finally picked out a X5 35d. Finishing the finance part was again smooth and without pressure. Credit financing was also very pleasant with Paul. Would definitely recommend BMW Arlington and Paul to my friends. Thank you, Paul! In my case, it involved locating a car that was actually in route to the U.S. and redirecting it to Virginia - this enabled me to get the color combinations and options that I wanted, rather than settling for what happened to be in inventory. Paul then worked to make sure that I got the best price (I contacted other dealerships and they would not beat the price Paul and I worked out). At the time of purchase, the paperwork was prepared promptly and clearly explained. They even made sure my 9-year old was entertained so that I could actually read the documents without being interrupted. When it came time to drive off, Paul took the time to not just explain how to set up the satellite radio, but waited with me as we went through the process (which included being put on hold by Sirius for an extended period of time). He helped me sync my cell phone to the vehicle and even walked me through the process of programming my garage opener. Other dealerships usually point you to the manual and say it's very easy to do (it's not). When my lease is up, I will definitely be discussing my options with Paul Blakeman. More

Part 1: I have just ordered a new 135i coupe from BMW of Arlington. I had been looking at cars and researching the purchase for past several months. My first visit I met with Paul Blakeman who arranged for two cars for me to test drive. He put the dealer plate on the car and gave me the keys. This is in contrast to other dealers that won't let you drive the car off the lot and then only allow you to drive a preset course with the salesman (e.g. BMW of Annapolis). After the test drive Paul and I communicate by email several times and talked about incentives and pricing. When the November cash rebate incentive was announced I decided to make my move. I met with Paul briefly on my way home from work to talk price and to understand the ordering process. Paul was very helpful in explaing the process as well as explaining the delivery options (European Delivery, Performance Driving School Delivery). I came back the next day at lunchtime and after a short negotiation we agreed on a price and ordered the car. Paul was very helpful and professional and very enthusiastic about the product. I will provide a followup review after I take delivery in December. More

In short, Paul managed to turn a 'no sale' into a happy YES! As brief background, when I first walked into the BMW of Arlington dealership a couple of months ago, I went in STRICTLY for a test drive on the new 5 Series because I'd already decided to purchase the car elsewhere. Well, what a difference an excellent salesperson can make!! Paul actually told me about features on my old car that I didn't even know the car had! Still, I wasn't an easy sell because of my loyalty to my former dealer in the NYC metro area from whom I'd purchased my last two vehicles (I now live in Alexandria). Your Car Guy Paul really listened to what I was looking for in my next vehicle and he matched my needs effectively without a hard sell. In the end, it was Paul's ability to listen to me and customize the purchase to fit my needs that made the real difference. I have to say that everyone I met at BMW of Arlington's sales division was very friendly and courteous on each of my visits. But 'Your Car Guy' Paul really has a great way with people that made the car-buying process even better for me - a woman who prefer to handle things on her own.
