Did a great job on scheduled service BUT I brought it in for a leaking roof. Despite being CPO, they wanted $650 to just look at it. Amazing to me that a $75,000 car is expected to have a leaky roof! Doing for a leaking roof. Despite being CPO, they wanted $650 to just look at it. Amazing to me that a $75,000 car is expected to have a leaky roof! Doing research, I learned this is a common issue with BMW. Their engineers should figure out a way to prevent it. More
I've been to this dealership on three separate occasions within the last six months for new tires (run-flats with a stuck screw) and EVERYTIME has been a pleasant experience for me. Awful service, even worse customer care I have had my car serviced at BMW of Annapolis exactly three times. And each and every time, I have had to take the car back because the service was I have had my car serviced at BMW of Annapolis exactly three times. And each and every time, I have had to take the car back because the service was incomplete or simply not performed. I have driven BMWs for 17 years. This is the only service facility I have ever had a problem with. The first time was to eliminate a rattle in the sunroof of my X3. The car was returned, and the rattle was still there. NO CHANGE. I took the car back to learn that no one had even bothered to drive the car after the repair. The shop foreman drove it, realized nothing had changed, and made some additional corrections. That fixed it. The second time was for a coolant leak. They told me they replaced an expansion tank and tested it. Exactly four weeks later my light came on again. They "assured" me it was a sensor problem. It wasn't. There was a leak in a hose connection this time. Why, if they tested that after the initial repair, this did not show up is a mystery to me. I had the oil changed while the car was there. I drive a diesel, and when the oil is changed so is the diesel exhaust fluid. They said they changed it, and even charged me for it. I put the car on the road, and on my way home got a warning light that it was low on diesel exhaust fluid and would not start in 1000 miles, By the time I got home I had 400 miles left before not starting. I missed an important meeting because I had to return to the dealership. They "assured" me it was a sensor problem. It wasn't. The service technician simply DID NOT replace the fluid he had charged me for and which he had indicated he replaced. Worse, a service rep I was dealing with refused to listen to my simple request to see if it had been replaced, and instead, insisted I would have to wait at least an hour and a half to even have the car looked at. Another service rep overheard that, took my key, and in ten minutes returned it and told me to fluid was never put in the car as I had suspected. Literally, every time I have taken my car there I have had to go back because the service was not checked over. I have never experienced such levels of absolute incompetence and disregard for customer care. I am surprised the service department gets any business at all. If you care about your car, please take it somewhere else for service. More
Service Shop Scams I've taken my under-warranty BMW to this service center for more than 3 years. They are usually polite, and it's great to be able to get a loaner car I've taken my under-warranty BMW to this service center for more than 3 years. They are usually polite, and it's great to be able to get a loaner car easily. While under warranty, most of the repairs were, of course, covered by the shop, so I didn't have to think twice to have them done. However, I now know that the few that weren't under warranty should have been red flags in my book and I should have gotten them checked out elsewhere (hello wire that was partly chewed by a rodent that cost a whopping $250 to fix!) Recently I got a notification from "efisher" at the service center saying my car was due for a regular servicing. I went online and couldn't figure out what that servicing was, and the agent on the phone couldn't figure it out either. But there was an airbag recall, so I took it in for that. When I took it in, they told me it was also slightly overdue for a $165 all-point checkup, which I agreed to have done. The check-up came back saying I needed over $2,000 of repairs, including replacing the engine oil filter housing gasket, replacing the valve cover gasket, and performing an engine coolant exchange service (normally needed on cars with 100K+ miles; mine has only 60K). So, I politely paid for the inspection and said I would take the car elsewhere for a second opinion . . . which is when the service agent somewhat sheepishly told me that the engine oil seep wasn't that bad, just starting, a little wet. Hmmm. So, I took it to a local shop that fixes my friend's BMW and is known to be honest, and they told me--you guessed it--that my car needs exactly $ZERO of repairs. The "engine oil seep" is probably just dirt from the road combined with a few spots of oil that could have gotten there when the oil was changed, etc. And zero need for a coolant exchange--coolant is NOT "discolored" like they said. Folks, this is disturbing. My first servicing post-warranty, and they try to scam me out of $2K for unneeded repairs?! I may be a female, but I am not completely stupid when it comes to car repairs. My advice: unless their service center is covering the repair or recall on their own dime, TAKE YOUR CAR SOMEWHERE ELSE TO BE SERVICED AND CHECKED OUT. (And may I recommend Harbor Auto Center on Generals Highway?) Oh, and yesterday I received an email from "efisher" about a recall that needs handling on the vehicle. But it appears that is the recall they fixed for me last week. Hmmm. ?! I was actually thinking of buying a newer, under-warranty BMW from this dealership, but you better believe I will be looking elsewhere when I'm ready to buy my next car. More
BUYER BEWARE For over 9 yrs I have owned 3 new BMW vehicles from various dealerships and I have never experienced customer service, such as what I received from th For over 9 yrs I have owned 3 new BMW vehicles from various dealerships and I have never experienced customer service, such as what I received from the BMW of Annap dealership. I communicated back and forth with a salesperson there for approx 4 weeks and selected my vehicle of choice, negotiated the price, and was waiting a couple of days for my new vehicle to arrive. My salesperson promised it would be in by the upcoming Friday (which was 4 days away) and if not, Monday at the latest. When Fri, Mon, Tues, Wed, Thur, and the next Fri came and went I did not hear from the salesperson, so I called her and emailed her multiple times to obtain the status. But, she would not respond to me. After unsuccessful attempts in getting her to respond, I decided to call the General Manager (GM) to find out what was going on and why did my salesperson abandon me and the deal. I spoke with him and he informed me that the vehicle I wanted was no longer available and that he could not honor the price/deal that the salesperson had promised. So, now I understand why she would not return my calls and emails. The GM did not display one iota of remorse and was not apologetic for how I was treated. His position was very lackadaisical and unconcerned about how the salesperson's inexperience, lack of knowledge, and dishonesty had inconvenienced me and wasted my time. Before ending our conversation, he halfheartedly stated that he would work on finding a deal and vehicle for me, but it is going on 3 weeks and I have not heard from him. So, at this point, the salesperson and GM's lack of customer service is definitely indicative of what's to come, if I purchased a vehicle at this dealership. So, I opted to write a letter to the President of BMW and take my business elsewhere. BUYER BEWARE!! More
The Worst BMW Dealership still around Leased, serviced one 3 series and three 5 series from this terrible dealership because it was closest to my home. its shop rarely fixed everything tha Leased, serviced one 3 series and three 5 series from this terrible dealership because it was closest to my home. its shop rarely fixed everything that needed fixing; always told me no loaner available until. I raised xxxx, then got loaner. Recently service department kept my 550 for two weeks. I'd call and someone would say we're looking for it. Someone else would say it's being worked on but wouldn't tell me what was holding it up. I finally came to suspect somebody at Annapolis BMW was driving my car around and just happened not to be there when I called. I have no proof of my suspicion, Dealership assiduously denied it. Last straw was when took 550 in for several problems, and finally got it back, service person said had ordered a part from BMW USA that closes and opens front grill and would call me when apart arrived. Got no call. When lease up, I turned car over to a different dealership for 3-year lease on 2020 BMW. . More
Anyone reading this I would advise not going to BMW of Annapolis. Only because the lowest rating available is ONE star otherwise I would have given the dealer no star. I inquired about a vehicle listed Annapolis. Only because the lowest rating available is ONE star otherwise I would have given the dealer no star. I inquired about a vehicle listed online and after negotiating with the salesman, we agreed on terms of the sales price. I was committed in purchasing the vehicle and sent them the authorization vehicle sales form to lock in the deal. Two days later, as I am getting ready to head down to the dealership, I received a text message from the manager stating that the salesman wanted to inform me the vehicle was not available since it was sold the night before. What is the purpose of having deposit form if they can't stick to it? They will never earn my business. More
