Recently I've been having a lot of difficulty with my 2009 BMW X5. I've been to many BMW NJ Service Centers (too many to be honest), and by far the client service I have received from Debra Shafer at BMW 2009 BMW X5. I've been to many BMW NJ Service Centers (too many to be honest), and by far the client service I have received from Debra Shafer at BMW of Bridgewater has been the client service that I've been looking for. Debra exceeded my expectations from other service centers. Not to say that there were not good client service reps in other service centers, but Debra's means of keeping you posted and being sincere with every ounce of good & bad news is what a client, who pays for an "Ultimate Driving Machine" expects & deserves. On top of that, the entire service center from receptionist, service technicians and other service agents (Chad & Jackie) has convincingly made me recommend this service center over previous I have attended. It truly seems as if all of them work together & know how to deliver service excellence because they just simply put themselves in the shoes of the client. KUDOS TO DEBRA & ALL THOSE AT BMW OF BRIDGEWATER!!! More
I had some services issues with my one year old 3 series. The repair took some time to figure out what was wrong. Every step of the way, the Service team kept me up to date on what was going on. The peopl The repair took some time to figure out what was wrong. Every step of the way, the Service team kept me up to date on what was going on. The people are what makes the difference there. The car is a car, no matter where you buy it. I was so glad that I brought my car to Bridewater BMW to be fixed. Mike and his team were very professional, honest and I will go back there again. I've told my friends to go there and they have, and didn't prove me wrong. More
Although I have always felt I was appropriately cared for as a customer in the last 2 years I have had 2 issues that proved this dealership as stellar. The most recent was a car accident. After being struck as a customer in the last 2 years I have had 2 issues that proved this dealership as stellar. The most recent was a car accident. After being struck yet uninjured I called the dealership for advice. They FIRST consoled me, then offered advice on every question I had. In fact their advice was spot-on. I have been with this brand and dealership for 3 years now and will stay because EVERY time I have interacted, it has at the least met my expectations. More
The best advice is to question anything and everything you are told. The short version is that I brought in my 2011 335i, with 17k miles, as it was vibrating at high speeds. Diagnois and recommendation: you are told. The short version is that I brought in my 2011 335i, with 17k miles, as it was vibrating at high speeds. Diagnois and recommendation: Replace 3 damaged rims. Must have been potholes they tell me. Cost: $1,500 + I was shocked and did not authorize the replacement. I went online and researched. Unfortunately this problem is quite commmon, especially with the run flat tires (avoid these at all costs!!!) However, I spoke with 3 different foreign car specialists, who all gave me virtually the same information. 9 times out of 10, the rims can be repaired, at a cost of $125 per rim. I called BMW, told them what I had learned. I was then told that they have a wheel guy who comes in and can do this type of work, and how convenient, he would be there the following day. Next day they called and said they could do the work for $160 a rim. I asked if they would match the quote I had for $125 a rim, and they agreed. So how does this job go from $1,500+ to $375? Am I wrong to assume they would have taken my rims, refurbished them and sold them at a handsome profit, while taking my $1,500 at the same time? When I asked the advisor why she didn't tell me about the repair option she said they don't repair rims. Huh? But they can arrange it? Not only that, but the wheels were filthy, and she told me it was because they washed the car before they did the work! Huh? They don't have any cleaning rags? Unprofessional, and no conscience whatsoever. They just can't compare on any level to Honda, Lexus or Porsche. More
Showed up at this dealership to browse the inventory. I had to actually go inside to find a sales person after walking around the lot for 25 minutes. Noone seemed to want to help me. Guess I should have had to actually go inside to find a sales person after walking around the lot for 25 minutes. Noone seemed to want to help me. Guess I should have changed out of my jeans and wore a suit if I wanted any kind of service. I eventually had some grumpy old man begrudgingly assigned to me. I explained what I was looking for and he must have lost interest because I was looking for a manual 328 rather than an M5. I never heard from him again even though he said he would keep an eye out. What kind of salesman wouldn't attempt to find a customer a car??!? Guess the meager commission on a 30k+ 3 series wasn't enough incentive. I went and bought a car from Audi instead. Better build quality, features, and styling for the money anyway. Also, far less snobby. Guess the people who sell the cars are just as pretentious as the people who drive them. He probably was bitter about helping someone in their mid-twenties... More
They will try to wring every last penny out of you. I brought my BMW in to be serviced because it was shaking a bit. A week later and 1800$, it wasn't covered under my extended warranty. I get the car ba brought my BMW in to be serviced because it was shaking a bit. A week later and 1800$, it wasn't covered under my extended warranty. I get the car back and it is still shaking. They lie. The people there make a commission on every part they sell. More
The service department was very helpful and cross honored a coupon I had with another BMW dealership. The salesforce was also helpful answering a few questions I had on the way out the door. a coupon I had with another BMW dealership. My engine was shuttering and Bridgewater BMW was offering a free check engine light service. I called the service department, made an appointment for 8:30 am and left my car to have it checked out. At around a free check engine light service. I called the service department, made an appointment for 8:30 am and left my car to have it checked out. At around 3:30 I received a call and was told that my car was checked out and needed all new coils, new spark plugs and a new water pump. The cost would be approximately $3,000. I was then told of a host of other "issues" that need to be addressed as well and the total cost for that would be an additional $4,000. I told her my spark plugs were changed 70,000 miles ago and are supposed to be good for 105,000 miles. She said that's what happens when cars get old. I asked to pick up my car so I could make a decision. I contacted a local auto shop who told me to replace the spark plugs, coils and water pump would cost $1,500 (although he said the water pump has nothing to do with the problem I was experiencing), so I brought my car there. The other auto shop checked my vehicle's computer, found out there was a misfire on only one cylinder, there was nothing wrong with my spark plugs (he said they had another 35,000 miles to go), only one of my coils was bad and while my water pump was signalling issues on and off my car never overheated so it was probably just a sensor issue and wouldn't require replacement. I picked up my car after one coil was replaced by the local auto shop and my total bill was $165.00. My car drives perfectly. While I purchased my car from Hunterdon BMW, this experience is why I never went to them for service work and I hoped that their move to Bridgewater would change that but I guess that's too much to hope for. I would never go to them again nor would I recommend them to anyone. More
We had been to four BMW dealerships for pricing prior to going to Hunterdon; we live in Morris County. Not only was their pricing unbeatable for our new X3, but the entire process from looking to purchasin going to Hunterdon; we live in Morris County. Not only was their pricing unbeatable for our new X3, but the entire process from looking to purchasing to completing the deal was painless, enjoyable, friendly and actually joyful! At no point did I feel pressured or intimidated... actually if felt like having coffee with old friends. Mike Shamy and Chris Shamy are true Gentlemen and I recommend them without hesitation; they will remain our dealers for years to come. More
