Bought a 2011 Toyota Camry through AutoNation as a teenagers first car. To make things simple, I paid for the services package so that the typical services would be covered over the next few years. Up teenagers first car. To make things simple, I paid for the services package so that the typical services would be covered over the next few years. Upon this, I was told I could go to any AutoNation to have this completed. The closest AutoNation is BMW/MINI of Dallas which is still a 30-45 min drive. We went through the AutoNation website to find the closest service center and utilized the connected link that prompted a scheduled appointment for the services. Put in all of the cars information and even added a note that if any further information or action was needed please reach out. Come a few days later, the appointment was canceled without initiation. We assumed a glitch and just rescheduled. Show up for the scheduled service and were informed that they did not have the oil filter necessary to complete the oil change. We were further informed that unless it is a BMW or MINI vehicle, you have to call to schedule. There is not a single place on their website or scheduler marking that as a disclaimer. If the establishment is representing themselves as an AutoNation service center, then they need to ensure there are disclaimers, or even the option to schedule separately as a non-BMW/MINI AutoNation service. It is obvious that there is no oversight on appointments since they failed to communicate prior to showing up for the appointment and tried to blame the technology, rather than their negligence to customer care or consideration. This is where we also found out that the appointment cancelation originally was an automated process since the vehicle was not a BMW. Something I feel should be flagged for their oversight. Regardless, I had to wait for the filter to be ordered and delivered to the shop. I was told it would be in Monday (this was Saturday) and I would receive a call Monday morning with an update. So, I re-arranged my schedule to ensure I could bring the vehicle in Monday. It hit 2PM Monday and I had not heard anything. I tried to call Dean - no answer and left a voicemail. Called the service center, I was transferred to someone else's voicemail. Some time later I finally sent an email and received a response shortly later that it was at the shop. Pulled into the service bay at 3:40 PM. Did not get home until 6:30 PM. But at least the oil was changed and tires rotated (I assume). They did not update the oil sticker or provide a receipt of any sorts. I sent a text to the number they had been using to contact me (via text) asking for some form of documentation showing exactly what they did and got nothing back. You would think this would be the simple part. I need to follow up on this. At least I know have a direct contact. Dean was nice and understanding. He acknowledged the concerns. So, from now on I will just be communicating with him for any scheduled appointments and whatnot. But, their current appointment schedule and communication needs adjustments if they truly are taking on the status of a proper AutoNation service center. More

Purchased a 3 series in January 2025. The sales person was great; however, the finance manager was a liar and a trickster. He added two warranties to my contract without speaking to me about them. When I asked about them, he said they were required. When I said, we would not be paying that and would leave, he reduced the price of the car to match the price of the two warranties, but said we were “required” to purchase these warranties. Since he reduced the price of the car and I figured I would be able to cancel the warranties within 30 days, we went ahead with the purchase. Upon receiving our paperwork, only the first page of the warranty information was included for each warranty. One said page 1 of 5 and one said page 1 of 7. We went back to the dealership to pick up something we’d left in the trade in, and again asked for the warranty paperwork. We again were only giving the first sheets. I then texted and emailed the sales person requesting in these documents. Not until my third call was I finally emailed the full documents. At this time, I learned that only one of the warranties was cancelable. I contacted auto trader to complain about the sales tactics and the finance manager. No call was ever returned. I followed up several times and eventually the exact same finance manager began to call me and leave me messages. I had no desire to speak with him so I decided to take this as a learning experience. This is not my first dealing with the dealership and all my experiences have been neutral to highly negative. The service area is always swamped and you can never get a return phone call. I’ve had my car in the shop and called repeatedly, left repeated messages, and was only able to get an answer when I returned to the shop to find the service person in person. Then upon leaving, they had disconnected my Apple CarPlay and my stereo did not work. I had to take it back to the dealership for another two days to get that fixed.I swore I would never work with this dealership again, but they had the car I wanted. I really did learn my lesson this time. I would advise going to Sewell over this dealership any day. As part of a job in the past, I have had to take cars in for service at various dealerships around town. BMW Dallas was always the worst and Sewell, any Sewell, was always the best. More
