At BMW of El Paso, we strive for transparency in our pricing and want to clarify the details regarding the "shop charge." In addition to the charges for parts, labor, and applicable taxes, a "shop charge" is applied to help cover the costs of materials that are generally used during vehicle repairs and services but cannot be individually itemized. These materials include items such as rags, nuts, bolts, screws, cleaners, small amounts of lubricants, and other necessary supplies. This charge is calculated as a percentage of the total labor cost, and it is noted on the invoice. We understand that unexpected charges can be frustrating and appreciate the opportunity to explain.
