I cannot recommend BMW of Fort Myers based on my experience. Last Saturday, I contacted the dealership about a vehicle they had listed online. Since I live in Utah, I couldn't inspect the car in experience. Last Saturday, I contacted the dealership about a vehicle they had listed online. Since I live in Utah, I couldn't inspect the car in person before purchasing, so everything had to be handled remotely. Kyle was responsive, and after removing a few optional add-ons from the pricing, we agreed on the advertised price of the vehicle plus shipping. I was ready to move forward. Because it was late Saturday, I explained that I would be out of town and wouldn't be able to finalize my financing until Thursday. I asked if they could hold the vehicle for me until then. I was told this would not be a problem and that all I needed to do was provide a $500 deposit by credit card. Monday morning, Kyle called me just before I lost cell service for the day. I gave him my credit card information, but instead of processing the agreed-upon deposit, he told me that "as a sign of good faith," he would simply keep my credit card on file. I trusted that the dealership was honoring our agreement. Later that day, after I regained cell service, I saw a text from Kyle mentioning a minor change to the agreement. Since it was after business hours, I decided to respond the following morning. When I woke up, I found another text from Kyle informing me that the dealership had sold the vehicle that was supposedly being held for me. According to him, his manager decided to sell it to another buyer because they were willing to pay full price. Let that sink in. I did everything the dealership asked me to do. I agreed to their price, agreed to pay for shipping, agreed to provide the requested deposit, and provided my credit card information exactly as instructed. The only reason a deposit wasn't processed was because their salesperson chose not to process it. Then the dealership used that situation to sell the car to someone else for a better deal. If a dealership's word means nothing, then neither does any agreement you make with them. A "hold" apparently lasts only until someone walks in with a better offer. This experience demonstrated a complete lack of integrity and respect for a customer's time. If you're buying locally, this is frustrating. If you're buying from out of state and have to rely on the dealership's honesty, it's unacceptable. There are plenty of dealerships that stand behind their commitments. Based on my experience, BMW of Fort Myers is not one of them. I would strongly encourage anyone considering doing business with them—especially from out of state—to think twice before trusting that a verbal agreement or promised hold will actually be honored. Disappointing, Costly, and Avoidable A routine oil change turned into a nightmare. Because of negligence during service and a failure to communicate an issue that should have been identified, my BMW M change turned into a nightmare. Because of negligence during service and a failure to communicate an issue that should have been identified, my BMW M4 overheated and suffered additional damage that resulted in multiple tows and unnecessary expenses. When I attempted to resolve this professionally, management refused accountability. The Service Manager, Claude, was dismissive, spoke over me repeatedly, and admitted fault verbally but refused to fix the damage. I have audio evidence of this interaction. This experience destroyed my trust in this dealership. BMW customers deserve far better than this. More
Genuinely disappointed with the lack of professionalism and transparency with this dealership. In my opinion, it appears that that I was lied to about the availability and price of a vehicle that I wanted and transparency with this dealership. In my opinion, it appears that that I was lied to about the availability and price of a vehicle that I wanted to purchase. I emailed this BMW dealer on Sunday morning (Nov 9th) to buy a dream pre-owned Mercedes that literally was posted for just hours, brand new listing/advertisement. They were closed on Sunday, so I didn't get a response back until Monday (Nov 10th). At 9:20am on Monday morning, I received a phone call from a sales associate J***. He told me that the vehicle was available for sale and that it was just traded in and it like new condition. I told him that I wanted the vehicle and to send me a few pictures and a walkaround video of which he suggested. After talking for 5 minutes, he said he would send over the requested media within 30 minutes and also a detailed price quote for payment. After 30 minutes, he called back and said the vehicle already had a deposit and wasn't sure how as the dealership was closed on Sunday but the listing was also posted on Sunday. Even though this didn't make sense, I said ok and to let me know if this buyer backs out of the deal as I'd like to be second in line to purchase. An hour later, I got a text from someone else at the dealer saying the vehicle had a deposit and that I would be next in line to purchase. At that point I just forgot the chance to get it. Later that night, I got an alert that the vehicle was available for sale again. However, the vehicle is now priced at $7,000 higher than the price that I inquired at originally on Sunday and said I would buy on Monday when they opened. So what's really going on here? One minute it's sold at the advertised price of $17k and then later that day, it's magically available again but at now priced at $24k? As of this writing, it's still up on their own site and also Autotrader at $7k more than when I inquired to purchase it days ago. Is this type of game normal for this dealer? They also ignored my review on Google and have made no attempt to reach out. More
