Live outside of California? AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COST. They do not understand the basic concept of how titling vehicles work or what a title even looks like. All they AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP AT ALL COST. They do not understand the basic concept of how titling vehicles work or what a title even looks like. All they know how to do is fill out in state California DMV registration paperwork. My 2-month saga started when I purchased a vehicle back on Nov 30th everything was great until I wired the money and sent the paperwork back (which they supposedly lost for a day then miraculously found a day later after they called FedEx liars about the delivery). This should have been a red flag but the money was already sent and paperwork signed so I continued the transaction. When I asked about when my state or I would be sent the title so I would be able to register and legally drive the vehicle I just purchased.. they refused due to the "vehicle being owned by BMW Financial and that I DO NOT OWN vehicle". This was coming from the Finance Manger Janet Kim and later on the Used Sales Manager Andy Larijani. If BMW Financial own's it...then why is BMW not paying my insurance, registration fees, and property taxes? Oh wait. It's because they don't own it. They are just lien holders and I am the registered owner according to the CA DMV and BMW Financial. A basic concept the Used Sales Manager Andy Larijani does not understand. I was then in limbo for 16 days (until Dec. 16th) until they filed paperwork with the CA DMV. At that point I found out that they somehow finessed the paperwork to the California DMV and got me a "Non-Planned Operation" Registration in California even though I do NOT live in CA and I can not legally hold a CA registration if I do not live in that state. I was accused of fraud by the California DMV and after explaining that San Francisco BMW did the paperwork, the California DMV advised me to file a formal complaint against BMW San Francisco with the State of California so the dealership's registering and titling practices can be looked into. I had a garage ornament that I was making payments on for almost 60 days that I could NOT legally drive due to the "Non-Planned Operating" California plates on the car. I had to work with BMW Financial for over a month to get the title from the California DMV sent to my state. The whole time BMW Financial confirmed multiple times that BMW San Francisco should have never sent the title to CA and instead should have sent it to my state. But Andy Larijani said that is not their policy and they send titles to California "to be washed". At the beginning I called the GM Aaron Escarrega on Dec. 13 begging for him to call me and he did NOT return my call. At this point I gave up on BMW San Francisco since it was obvious neither Andy or Aaron were going to do anything to correct their dealership's mistake. Finally, after almost 2 months I was able to legally drive the vehicle I purchased with no thanks or help from BMW San Francisco. On top of that saga, I still have an open issue that Andy said he would take care of and has yet to. The EV Charger that was delivered with the car is physically broken and I bought this up to Andy back on Jan. 5th. He said "text me your address and I will send out a new one" Guess what? He never sent me one, so I reached back out on Jan. 26th(21 days after he said he would send one out). And he said again "send me your address" which I did.. again. He stated "it's on the way". I then texted him on Jan 31st asking for a tracking number and he never responded. If he cared he would have sent the charger out 27 days ago it is obviously he is just trying to get rid of me and is not going to do anything. This dealership is a high-volume dealership who do not care if they rip off a customer or two since three more customers are lined up to help them meet their sales quota. Look at the other bad reviews and there were more reviews about them withholding titles but they are now deleted. More
I recently bought a BMW X3 and there service was quite poor. My original sales PoC Dinu was actually responsive and although the response time was quite long he tried to answer any question I had. But it poor. My original sales PoC Dinu was actually responsive and although the response time was quite long he tried to answer any question I had. But it was a BMW certified used car and when I received the car i noticed there was quite a few scratches, which are quite visible. I bought the car online, fully trusting the dealership but they did not mention those beforehand. Normally its actually quite standard for dealerships to highlight or show picture of any scratch/dents for used car so the potential buyers know the condition, but that was definitely not the case for this one. Once i received the car and reached back out regarding the scratches, they just ghosted me. I pinged Dinu and Andy (manages the used car business) multiple times with pictures and everything, but no resolution. Andy who actually is supposed to be the main PoC for used cars never even replied. Finally with all methods failed, I reached out to the GM, who seems to be very active on external forums trying to defend his dealership, but he didn't reply either. There were other less than ideal experience during the buying process as well, like the finance manager who seemed a bit rude and did not really much time to explain the thick stack of documents I was supposed to sign and also the delivery getting delayed by several days (they actually didn't know where the car was for multiple days in the middle). But I was still okay with those as long as everything in the car was fine. I have bought cars before and this was the worst experience by far, let alone getting premium service for buying a BMW. I can validate that all the bad reviews this dealership go thus far are well deserved. Due to current supply shortage lot of people like me go to these dealership despite knowing their reputation and hoping their experience will be different, but the bad reputation is well earned and I hope no one will go to them if they have any other option whatsoever. Purchased a used 2020 m4 from BMW San francisco in September 2022, and worked with Carl Chenault. As a sales advisor, I felt that I had to constantly reach out to him for any updates or when my car September 2022, and worked with Carl Chenault. As a sales advisor, I felt that I had to constantly reach out to him for any updates or when my car was going to be shipped up to Seattle since I live out of state and he never specified any date. I had to keep pushing for information as to which he could not tell me exact dates on when my car would be shipped from their end. I had paid for closed carrier shipping, and they shipped my car up in an open carrier, and when I found out, the general manager at the time reimbursed me for the difference. There was no apology that my car came up in multiple states and wasn’t enclosed in a carrier which I had paid for. I had a horrible experience with their finance manager, John Meier, who decided to argue with me when I had declined packages after his 3rd call to me. He spent multiple times trying to convince me to get the oil change and extended warranty packages, and when I declined, proceeded to ask me if I knew anything about what he was asking me to do. After I left a review on BMW San Francisco google reviews, at 10pm I received an inappropriate message from Carl (sales advisor) asking me why I would leave that review as to which I responded that this was extremely inappropriate and that I will be contacting his manager. I recently took my car into a third party shop to get my winter tires mounted, to which they notified me that there is extreme damage to the brake calipers, and 3 rims are bent and 2 out of the 4 rims are not OEM, but replica wheels. Already have escalated with BMW NA, but whatever you do just go to a different dealership. More
Dishonest management, poor service and no communication. The used car manager is rude, disrespectful and dishonest person I’ve ever spoken with. I will NEVER purchase another car (my second BMW) nor will I ever recommend SFBMW to anyone. There’s plenty of BMW Dealerships around that are worthy of your business. Save yourself the frustration and the headache. Look at the pattern of the reviews. Most of them have experienced the same problems with this dealership and you wonder why they don’t correct problem. They don’t care about you as a person; just their bottom line profit. More

The next day the temporary plate number was hanging up because it was not properly screwed, they put what looks like a wood screw on it. This is not just laziness but a big disregard to the concern of their customers. Since I was asking for the proper keys I kept in touch with Jeremy but he don't answer my emails anymore after the sale, he was very diligent in answering my emails before the sale but after that he changed. Jeremy's String of Lies: 1. When the car was delivered Jeremy called me that the keys are there and the paperworks but when the car arrived there was only a transponder key ( which looks like going back to the ice age) and neither a paperwork. 2. I kept on calling Jeremy, he was really hard to get in touch with but after many desperate attempts at the phone and email he responded that they were still looking for the keys which was misplaced somewhere. 3. Jeremy admitted that they don't have the key, at last. So then he asked me to buy it myself and he will give me a refund. So I said why don't you send me an email to make it a written offer but he never sent me the said email. 4. I have been calling almost everyday , to almost anybody at the dealership hoping someone could provide me the proper car key for my Camry. The week past without success. 5. The next week I called again and Jeremy promised me that they will order my key. Later that day, Tuesday he called me telling me that his boss has already ordered the key and it will be delivered by Friday. I asked him an order slip or a tracking number but he can't provide. I asked him why would you order the key and delivered it to you and not to my address straight away to make things simple, he didn't answer on that. 6. Friday came in and nothing was delivered. He made another excuse that there was a back order on the keys and it can't be delivered as promised. What? By the time you order it they will tell you straight away if there is a back order. Again I asked him if he can show me a proof of order but he can't show me one not even a tracking number. So, after all the lies that he told me, I have decided to write this review. I don't normally write review but this time I dealt with a liar who tried to make me look like an idiot. PLEASE DONT DO ANY DEALINGS WITH THIS GUY. More
This store is the worst store I have ever seen. They are not honest, they increase prices at will, they are arrogant, I will never buy a car from this store again. -In September 2021, I ordered an They are not honest, they increase prices at will, they are arrogant, I will never buy a car from this store again. -In September 2021, I ordered an M3 from this dealer and joined the waitlist. The car I ordered was black at the time, but when production started in October my car turned white. This directly resulted in me being able to get the car several months later. -After that, in March 2022, for my personal reasons, I first bought an M5 from this store, and at the same time I told the salesperson to keep my M3 for me. When my M3 arrived at this dealership in April 2022, I asked the salesman if he could transfer the order to my friend, and the salesman agreed. However when my friend was about to pay, we found out that they added 3K without telling us. We didn't agree because it was illegal, but they decided that we didn't want this M3 and chose to sell it directly to other customers for more money. -When we came to the dealership again, a sales manager named Aaron Escarrega and his arrogant attitude told us the car was not mine, told me that I was no longer a customer of the store, and argued with me. Our purchasing experience with BMW of San Francisco was the WORST ever. We love the BMW brand, but we will never use this dealership again for anything, service, trade-ins, nothing. Here is a shortlist the WORST ever. We love the BMW brand, but we will never use this dealership again for anything, service, trade-ins, nothing. Here is a shortlist of the breakdowns we experienced. - We sold our 5-Series to them, we still owed a portion to BMW financial, but we were supposed to receive 15k for the car. We were given multiple different answers on how and when we would be paid. - A week later, while purchasing a new 8-Series, the sales team and finance team had no record of the 5-Series we sold them (even though they had possession of it). Worse yet, the dealership needed us to provide paperwork proving they bought the car from us. - No one could answer where our check or the 5-Series was for more than a week. - We were promised multiple times a manager at the dealership would call, and they never did. In one instance, the person we spoke with was rude to the point my husband hung up on them. - In frustration, we escalated it to a manager at BMW Financial. Only then did the dealership admit that they had not processed the 5-Series transaction correctly. - During the 8-Series purchase, there was a miscommunication between the sales team and the dealership manager. They had approved the purchase cleared the finance incorrectly (the sales team thought it was bank approved and claimed later they misheard the manager). They prepared the 8-Series for delivery, giving us the keys. As we got into the car, they rushed out and told us not to leave. We were shocked, tired, and embarrassed, taking an uber home. - Again the manager promised that he would get bank clearance and call us around 9:00 am the next day. No response. - We called, and we finally got a hold of someone at the dealership who talked down to us and said, "the manager was in meetings all day and too busy to deal with this" and "we needed to wait for sales to confirm bank purchase" the total opposite of their commitments. - We were ready to walk away from the deal, but we needed a car and wanted this particular car. - After this back and forth, the dealership obtained bank approval and moved us to the final finance steps. - We took possession of the 8-Series, but another week later, we received frantic calls from the finance department, who discovered a mistake they made with the paperwork. The dealership explained we technically weren't in legal possession of the vehicle. And they needed us to rush to re-sign all-new paperwork. - Finally, in the process, we transferred a vanity tag to the car, paid registration, etc., as instructed by BMW of SF. Unfortunately, today, we received a second set of tags, a second registration, and we were double charged due to another mistake by the dealership. - BMW of SF told us to take it up with the DMV. I have purchased many cars in my life, and I've had many experiences with dealerships. Unfortunately, our experience with BMW of SF is by far was the most disorganized, unprofessional, and downright appalling customer support we have ever received through a car dealership. I want nothing from them, and I am not angry anymore. I simply want to share this experience. Even though this BMW of SF is located 10 min down the street, we will take our BMW business to Peter Pan BMW in Southbay. We will never use BMW of SF for service, maintenance, support, or parts. So be warned, do not sell your car or buy a car from BMW of SF. Instead, find another BMW dealership in the Bay Area and give them your business. More
