Harold Harris provided excellent service from start to finish with my X3 and X5 vehicles. He knew what needed to be done, what didn't need to be done, and what was covered by warranty. I believe that most owners of new or leased vehicles understand that the ultimate quality and satisfaction of any automobile dealership is truly determined based on their experience with the dealership’ understand that the ultimate quality and satisfaction of any automobile dealership is truly determined based on their experience with the dealership’s Service Department personnel, including service advisors and managers. The relationship with a sales person at the dealership usually only lasts for 2-3 months during the ordering/sales process, whereas the relationship and interaction with the dealership’s service department lasts for the duration of the lease or ownership, ranging on average from between 2 to 7+ years. My specific experience with BMW of Southpoint was as a BMW vehicle owner visiting relatives in the Durham/Cary area and wanted them to perform a full servicing on my 2016 BMW X5M. Before that work could be performed, my vehicle and I were involved in a minor traffic accident around Thanksgiving 2021, occurring not far from the dealership, which required that the vehicle be towed to this dealership and then subsequently to a local auto body shop for the repairs. Upon the supposed completion of those repairs several months later, I drove the vehicle from the auto body shop to BMW of Southpoint for them to finally perform the originally intended full servicing on the vehicle. During that short drive, there was a malfunction of the rear air suspension on the vehicle that we later determined was associated with the accident several months earlier. This is where the BMW of Southpoint Service Department and specifically, the Service Manager Jeffery Clark, rose to the occasion performing work and service above and beyond what one usually receives. He, along with one of his Service Technicians showed me exactly what had failed, both for the rear suspension, as well as another issue in the engine bay that they discovered, helping me to see first-hand and better understand the situation. Shortly thereafter, upon their research, the necessary replacement rear suspension parts were out of stock regionally and not readily available, causing real concern. Undeterred, they continued their search nationally and were able to locate, order and expedite the next-day delivery of the necessary parts so that their service technician could install them on my vehicle. They were able to perform the full servicing of 9+ key reader identified items, along with discovering, diagnosing, replacing and calibrating two failed engine crank case ventilation lines. I greatly appreciated that Jeffrey Clark immediately contacted the representative at the body shop with whom I had been working with and was able to explain and successfully negotiate with him that the cost of the parts and labor involved with the replacement of the failed rear air suspension should be part of the supplement charge to my auto insurance company, saving me from having to pay for that work. On top of that, I was given a discount on the cost of all BMW parts since I am a member of the BMW Car Club of America (BMW CCA). During this period, he arranged for the dealership to give me the use of a new, low-mileage BMW loaner vehicle. Thankfully, the Service Department was able to perform all of this work over a 48-hour period, saving me from the cost of an additional motel night. From this experience, I can attest to the high caliber of personal service afforded to me by Jeffrey Clark, his Service Technician and all of the staff at BMW of Southpoint that I interacted with. They made every effort to help address and correct the situation with my vehicle, as well as making me as comfortable as possible. The professional, competent and friendly demeaner and attitude of everyone involved, along with the cleanliness and organization of the BMW of Southpoint dealership was a real pleasure. Thank you all again for minimizing a stressful situation and resolving it as quickly and successfully as you did. I therefore can and do highly recommend BMW of Southpoint for any and all BMW owners.
