On November 14th, I purchased a used vehicle from BMW of Towson in Maryland, an AutoNation-owned dealership. During the sale, I traded in my previous vehicle, and they assured me they would transfer my West Towson in Maryland, an AutoNation-owned dealership. During the sale, I traded in my previous vehicle, and they assured me they would transfer my West Virginia license plates, handle all DMV paperwork, and mail my title and registration to my state. I was issued a temporary Maryland tag. By December 1st, having heard nothing at all, I began trying to follow up. Over the course of the entire week, I sent emails, texts, and made multiple phone calls to every department involved in my purchase. No one responded. My trade-in was already sold, yet the dealership could not even give me basic information about the paperwork for the car I purchased. On Friday morning, I finally reached someone who told me the general manager was in a meeting but would call me by 1 PM and that she had emailed and CC’d every department involved in my sale. She assured me this would be handled by the end of the day. Today is Tuesday, and I have still never received a single response—not from the general manager, not from finance, not from sales. My WV DMV confirms that they have not received any documents at all from this dealership. What makes this even more serious is that my temporary Maryland registration is about to expire, meaning I will soon be forced to park the car I recently purchased because the dealership has not sent the necessary paperwork. I can’t legally drive a vehicle I bought from a major AutoNation dealership because they simply stopped communicating with me. I am honestly shocked that an AutoNation-owned BMW dealership would treat a customer with such disregard, lack of communication, and zero follow-through after the sale.
