Glen has been very attentive and checked in a few times to make sure I wasn't having any problems with the car. Firstly, my wife and mother weren’t greeted with a friendly “hello” upon their arrival, it was more like a don’t want to be bothered, “how may I help you?” Secondly, there was poor communication from friendly “hello” upon their arrival, it was more like a don’t want to be bothered, “how may I help you?” Secondly, there was poor communication from the Service Representative when she was finally helped. Instead of communicating why he was getting up to leave, he just jumped out of his chair and left her standing without a word. She had to ask the other service rep. if she was supposed to wait. Thirdly, the Customer service was poor and very upsetting for my wife and my elderly mother. There was a young African American man who was cleaning that stood out to my mother. He took the time to say “hello”, with a friendly smile and tone, and offered her and my son snacks and water. When my wife was told that she’d have to leave our car for a check and didn’t know how long she’d have to wait, the service rep. ordered a Lyft for the transportation home. That was nice of him. When it came time to remove my sons car seat and wait for her ride, it got even worse for her. When their ride arrived no one offered to help. There were about 4-6 people standing outside chatting and not one person offered to help carry the heavy car seat to their ride. She had to carry the heavy car seat, hold onto my two year old son, and watch to make sure my elderly mother didn’t get hurt as she walked down the steps as they headed to their ride. We’ve experienced good customer service at many dealerships, but this Bakersfield Hyundai wasn’t up to par for us. My wife never complains about these things, but the fact that she and my mom said they hated how their experience at Bakersfield Hyundai says a lot about your facility. When I was notified that our car was ready. The service rep. send a Lyft to pick up my family at home and back to Bakersfield Hyundai. That was very helpful for them. Upon their arrival, they were met by Phil Pineda with a great smile and an inviting “hello.” He helped her take the heavy car seat out of the car and walked them to his office where they could discuss other matters of a vehicle. Phil was very kind to my son. He offered snacks and water to them. He made my family feel good, comfortable, and confident to be in the facility. He was very helpful and knowledgeable about purchasing a new vehicle. My wife wants to leave Bakersfield Hyundai, but if we stuck around it would be because of Phil Pineda. We may be just one customer, but always remember that that one customer also means that they will always be a loyal customer and keep coming back. When all the trust, and confidence is lost at the very beginning, it’s hard to get that feeling back. In order to have your customers feel comfortable and confident. All staff and team should make the effort and help make the customer feel safe, good, comfortable, and confident to be at your facility. More
