I assumed the 4 star rating meant they must be a top-notch dealership, a place I would leave not feeling slimy, gross, and above all, disrespected. I was wrong. I left feeling all three, slimy, gross, and disrespected. I went to Battleground to trade-in my car and purchase a vehicle from them. I spent two hours Friday evening walking the lot with my salesman and test driving cars to find the right fit. I told him a huge piece of me buying a car from them would be based on their value for my trade. After test driving a few cars we sat down to talk numbers about the vehicles we drove and about my trade. I was given a trade in value of $14,500. I was happy with that but it was 8:50pm at this time(the dealer closed at 9pm). I asked my salesman if these numbers would hold until the next morning. I told him if they did, I would be purchasing a car from him. I wanted to go home and speak with my fiancee before signing all the final papers. He said yes AND he SIGNED the guest information/trade-in sheet confirming that nothing would change. I would not be as upset if the salesman had not conferred with his sales manager, Steve Shoffner, before saying YES and SIGNING his name as a "promise" that nothing would change. I showed up at 9:15am on Saturday morning with my fiancee, as I promised him I would do. We walked in with every intention of purchasing a vehicle. I showed my fiancee the cars we were considering with the same salesman, she had the opportunity to test drive them and then we went in to talk numbers. Apparently his sales manager, same guy, Steve Shoffner flopped on the value of the trade by $500. I was in disbelief, I had the paper in my hand with my salesman's signature on it and the "promise" that the value of the trade would not change. I showed the salesman the paper he signed the night before and he said I know, I asked him if Steve Shoffner knew, he said he did. So of course, we had to leave. I still have the paper and wish that google would let me upload a copy of it as an attachment. On their website it says one of their values is "integrity." If you are looking for a dealership with integrity this is not the place for you. Do not waste your time here with people who do not have the decency to remain true to their promises, or their signatures. If this is how they treat people when they want them to buy a car, I can only imagine what it must be like coming back in for a service. Do yourself a favor--go elsewhere, find a dealership that respects its customers and has integrity. More

Most of the break downs were unforeseen, but there was an issue that was caused by Battleground Kia. When we brought this to their attention, they quickly turned rude. Of the more than $4000 we have spent fixing the car, we are only asking for them to cover about $600 of that. The rudeness began instantly. I hate it, but they lost my future business. More

Playing Games We went to Battleground Kia because after researching 2014 Souls, I found the (internet) price of just under 14k, which is what brought us in. The sec We went to Battleground Kia because after researching 2014 Souls, I found the (internet) price of just under 14k, which is what brought us in. The second we stepped foot out of our car, we were immediately greeted by a new sales rep. I mentioned the car and the price range (14k or less) I wanted to remain in. When the car that I had come in to see had been 'sold,' I asked to see what they had to offer for the same price. We were shown another 2014 Kia Soul and were told it had the same price as the one we came in to see. So, we gave it a test drive. When were taken inside to start the paperwork, we asked for the second time to be told the bottom line for the vehicle. While we were waiting to get the manager's price, we looked up other local prices on the same car. We found several listings of the same exact vehicle for 13K being offered by a local competitor. When we brought this to the attention of our rep and his sales manager, we were assured we would get a great deal. He even told us that the way the competitor priced their cars, we would not qualify for the price the competitor had listed. (Apparently both Battleground Kia and the competitor list prices that have rebates and discounts already included that not everyone qualifies for like recent grad rebate, military rebate, etc.). After waiting even longer to get the best offer (we had been at the dealership for over 2 hours at this point) we were shown an offer for over 17K. I was baffled, and soon became pretty irritated. The Sales Manager had once already talked me out of leaving, promising me a great deal and he gave me an offer for more than 3k over what we had talked about at the beginning! When we told our rep there is no way we would do 17k+ and that our price had to be 14k or less, he hurriedly went back to his Sales Manager. We waited another few minutes. When he returned, the offer was still over 15k. I grabbed my purse and headed towards the door. Both the rep and Sales Manager happened to stop my boyfriend, and by default, myself. The Sales Manager showed us some BS sheet of paper that showed he supposedly paid over 16k for this vehicle and how much money he was losing by offering us the 15k offer. We went to Battleground Kia because their site specifically says that they do not play pricing games, but I felt played. I do NOT recommend this dealership. More
Great experience We had a 2012 Kia Soul and were very pleased with it, from sale through service and serviceability [only serviced at the dealership]. The dealership s We had a 2012 Kia Soul and were very pleased with it, from sale through service and serviceability [only serviced at the dealership]. The dealership sent us a come and look letter so we stopped in. Looked at the Optima, loved it, but decided on a 2014 Soul. There was no pressure to upgrade, buy more options, etc. Rather they were more interested in what we were looking for and meeting that need. We have driven the 2014 about 1,000 miles and are even happier with it than we were the 2012- which is saying a lot. Not only was our salesman great, we were warmly greeted by the manager and financing person. Service has been great on the 2012 so we have no worries about that element as well. They received the KIA Presidents Award- not sure what all was involved. Our assessment was that they deserved any award out there for the great customer service. More

Found a 2012 Kia Optima through AutoTrader that we liked and made an internet query. Contacted immediately by Nica who answered all questions without hesitation. This particular dealership was over a 2 h and made an internet query. Contacted immediately by Nica who answered all questions without hesitation. This particular dealership was over a 2 hour drive for us, so needless to say we were very much interested. Internet trade in appraisal showed $3,900 for trade in value based on the information provided. When speaking with Nica regarding this, she stated this was typically the minimal amount approved. Just prior to leaving home, we received a call from the dealership checking up on us and letting us know they would be waiting. After arriving at the dealership through nasty weather including sleet and freezing rain, we were greeted by Tim, our salesman. Tim had a friendly appearance and braved the inclement weather to show us two vehicles. Due to time constraints, we began review of the numbers and the typical back and forth process between the salesman and the sales manager started. They brought out the trade in value which was $400 less than the Car Trader appraisal due to a broken door latch, I assume, that wasn't noted. The part itself is $30 to replace. The first set of numbers didn't appeal to us at all, so Tim graciously took the numbers back to the sales manager to rework. After the 2nd trip back, the number still were not where we needed them to be, so he diligently returned to the sales manager again only to come back with almost the same offer. At that point, we didn't feel we were going to be able to make a deal even with 3k cash down, so as we began standing up, typical of car dealers, the sales manager comes up to us. What stood out to me the most was he didn't even introduce his self nor did he extend a handshake as is customary for this business. I extended my hand and said "you must be the sales manager." Even with the haggling, he insulted me with his offer even further and I noted to them that once I left I would not return even if they reduced the car by thousands simply because of principle. I have run numbers for 16 years and the sales manager had the audacity to tell me that my numbers must be wrong. Needless to say, he didn't offer any tangible numbers to the contrary. After realizing our total 4 hour roundtrip drive was a bust, I couldn't help but think on the way home how nice the internet sales rep, Nica was and how genuine the salesperson, Tim seemed to be. I did not catch the sales manager's name but I would be ashamed to call him a manager at my business. In my line of work, an introduction, firm handshake, and a smile go a long ways and I did not feel him emulating customer service at all. My advice would be to take your business elsewhere and save yourself the hassle. More
