I traveled 565 miles to purchase a Lexus 350 AWD advertised on AutoTrader. I put $500 on my credit card to hold the vehicle. When I arrived at the dealership the Lexus was a different color than the advertised on AutoTrader. I put $500 on my credit card to hold the vehicle. When I arrived at the dealership the Lexus was a different color than the photo depicted (more of a bright apple red color instead of the deep red/maroon color of the car in the picture) and the rear bumper had a major dent that I believe compromised the integrity of the bumper. The add listed the color as unknown but I thought that meant they did not have the official name of the color...not that it was a different color from what the photo showed. More
It was a long day. The dealership was rather busy and while I did notice there was new construction, the old building was very dirty and unkempt. I was not greeted when I cam into the dealership. I went up to the sales counter and asked for the internet salesperson I was dealing with. I didn't realize the internet dealer person was not actually a salesperson at the dealership. Initially, one person helped me and then I was referred to Greg Parker. Not an auspicious start - shuffled from one to another then to another. Greg was very helpful and relaxed. Finding the Avalon that I had received the quote on was a process. We traveled to a separate lot and it was not there. Then we returned to the main lot, and we still couldn't find the car I was interested in. We took a test drive in a different car (which was the car I ended up buying). Then we found the other car. Then I decided to purchase the first car, provided I could get the same mat set that was in the one I initially received a firm price on from the internet salesperson. The price negotiations included a trade-in of a one year old Hybrid Camry. It was a drawn-out process and I don't think the deal I got was particularly good. At the end, the deal sheet included a charge of about $300 for something called "data dots" which sounds like a bogus upcharge to me, but I was too tired to put up more of a stink at this point (over four hours at this point). The Avalon is in demand to be sure, but I know the dealer made an excellent profit on my deal. The deal as finished included picking up the mats as they were in the car I initially received a firm price quote on the next day at the service department, which was closed (Sunday). I made the return trip and I got the interior mats, but no trunk mat was included. I never got all that I was promised. After all the hassles, I decided not to make a scene about the trunk mat, but it was the final insult on this deal. Given the overall quality of the dealership, I would prefer not to go to this dealership ever again. I am taking my car to another Toyota dealer for service. I do think Greg was sincere and helpful, but the business practices and systems of the dealership really need to be improved. More
You probably only get complaints from customers as most people like to complain. I usually don't write a review, but when I went with my son to look to purchase a car (and we went to about 20 lots!), we f people like to complain. He actually knew what he was talking about, so I think my son will go with your dealership when he will purchase a car next month. Tell Mr. Waite "Thank you". Steve Waite was so knowledgeable and helpful. He went out of his way to make sure I had a great experience. It is easy to feel like you're being pushed into buying, but with Steve it was like he was trying t of his way to make sure I had a great experience. My recent experience at Beaverton Toyota was fantastic. The customer service was excellent. Mr. Augustine was friendly, informative and very knowledgeable.
