My 2014 Mustang was brought in for transmission issues because it couldn't shift it into 1st, 2nd or Reverse. Bergstrom had my car for a little over a month. During this time, I was told 5 different things from "that is normal" to "it is an electrical issue." One of their technicians said I just need to drive it more and it will go away.
After getting the general manager involved, things got moving a little bit but blamed it on short staffing as the reason for the issues with their service department. During this time, two of bergstroms technicians who are in the same car group as me were messaging me and ripping down the technicians working on my car saying they are unqualified, have very little experience.
After a long wait, I got my car back and it worked for a couple weeks. I brought the car back in for a rattle it didn't make until they "fixed it" and they weren't going to cover it, even though it didn't make that noise until they worked on it. When I was dropping off the car for the second time, the guy behind the desk was ripping his coworker to me calling her an idiot multiple times. This is extremely unprofessional.
Two hours after leaving the dealership, the transmission was back to not going into 1st, 2nd or Reverse. Instead of waiting another month, I took it to a transmission specialist and they recommended a new transmission and would be about $5,000 in repairs. Keep in mind, I purchased this vehicle end of November, parked it for the winter in the middle of December and took it back out at the end of February.
Trying to get a hold of someone via phone is impossible with Bergstrom, but if you go inside you will see 5-6 people doing nothing, playing basketball or flirting with the receptionist. However, not a single one of them had the time to give me a call back.
As a result of Bergstrom's unprofessionalism, lack of customer service and inexperienced technicians, I had no other option but to purchase a new car from another dealership. I took a $5,000 hit on trade in because of the transmission they never fixed and was trying to get a hold of the general manager to be compensated for part of that, but yet again it is next to impossible.
If you purchase a car from them, the second you walk out the door, they stop caring. I highly recommend Jacobson's Auto, Les Stumpf Ford or Holiday Ford if you're looking for a new or used vehicle without being dragged around when something goes wrong.
