Look elsewhere I approached Berman Nissan of Chicago to help with my lease buy out. I dealt with various representatives, but was unable to complete my purchase due I approached Berman Nissan of Chicago to help with my lease buy out. I dealt with various representatives, but was unable to complete my purchase due to contract terms not being honored. A lease buy out does not require a disposition fee (by the very definition of the term). A separate contractually agreed upon purchase fee is the appropriate fee. Though these are not extremely different amounts, these are the terms of a Nissan contract. Careful to fully understand the fees presented by this particular dealership. For those still interested in a more detailed review, I had to find information through Star Nissan (a sister store - highly recommended), Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation, and Nissan Consumer Affairs. I received phone call and email from Berman Nissan of Chicago at 11pm from a sales manager, and the next day from the same manager. I was informed that they would be “willing” to accept the purchase fee. No accountability was taken at any level of this dealership to admit the wrongdoing by attempting to charge the incorrect fee. I escalated the issue to the upper management but was met with condescension as well as overhearing the operations manager say to a manager at Star that they did not want me back. I was assured by Star that at no point were my contract expectations out of line. Thanks to Star Nissan for sorting out the errors created by Berman of Chicago. The dynamic at Star with respect to personability and customer service could not be any further different from the experience at Berman of Chicago. These dealerships are not too far apart from each other. I highly recommend visiting the Star for a more pleasant experience. More
