I found a used Volvo that interested me at Bertera via their website. The car looked good compared to other similar vehicles on the market. A clean Carfax and a price reduction inspired me to call Bertera to set up an appointment to view the car - I live in Connecticut and have to drive over an hour to get there, so I didn't want to drive there unannounced and waste time or receive lackluster service. Upon arrival my wife and I were introduced to Joel Lewis, who became our sales person. He is a young, enthusiastic fellow, evidently new to car sales. He was a pleasure to deal with. Upbeat and fun without being fake or pushy. He seemed to know quite a bit about the Volvo we were interested in, as he was able to show us it's quirks and unique features. A test drive sealed the deal. I tried to knock down the price a little but Bertera wouldn't budge. I could understand this because of the significant price drop that they had already given to this vehicle. There was an out-of-state registration SNAFU a few days later, but Joel caught it in time to save the day and the sale was completed on schedule. Overall, we were impressed with Bertera. Their lot is full of good looking, late model used cars. Their prices seemed reasonable. Pressure on us was low key. Hey, it's a car dealership, so it's not going to be all warm and fuzzy, but we drove away in our new (to us) car feeling good about the purchase. More
The overall experience was exactly as it should be. The salesman, Joel Lewis, was exemplary in providing us with what we needed, when we needed it, at a reasonable price, and without hassle. I was in the market for a chevy tahoe. My wife and I went to Bertera Chevrolet to test drive a 04 z71 we saw online for 18,900.00. Upon speaking with a salesman it became very clear that they were going to d to Bertera Chevrolet to test drive a 04 z71 we saw online for 18,900.00. Upon speaking with a salesman it became very clear that they were going to do all they could to keep us from seeing the vehicle we actually had an interest in. The salesman made it a point to show us every tahoe they had that was more expensive, but not the one we could afford. I understand this is a sales tactic, but I felt disrespected when the sales staff tries to put the price in a monthly payment form instead of a total sales price,in an effort to entice me to put myself into financial troubles by overspending because it doesnt seem as expensive when you look at it as a payment, not a purchase. Long story short, I had 20,000 cash to spend on a vehicle. they did not have the 18,900$ truck we went there to see. they kept showing us 20,000 plus priced vehicles. The only vehicle we even tried negotiating was $20,800.00 I explained yet again my budget- and how i could not go over 20k. They responded with their inability to budge on price due to the "tires for life" program which involves free tires if all preventive maintenance is performed at their facility. I DIDNT WANT THAT! I am the manager of a very large,local independant tire and auto service center. I have never, nor will I ever pay someone else to perform the services I have spent decades performing myself. Therefore I also refuse to pay for this program knowing I will not use it. My offer: sell me this 2003 tahoe with 53k miles for any price under 20k. I dont care if it says $19999.99 I cannot afford to spend more than 20k.its that simple.. Their response: "I cant do that sir, we cant remove the tires for life package". I said : sorry, no deal! of course then he went to fetch the sales manager to "see what he could do to make this work today" and he explained how he cant lower the price, and that deal may not still be available tomorrow.(BS) I had now been there for 3 hours and was at wits end. I kept my thoughts to myself and said "we are done here" and then left. At 10:15 am the following morning I recieved a call from Bertera to tell me they had spoke to the sales managers manager and that they could drop the price to 20,500. I naturally laughed at this point, because when they called I was getting into my car after paying, signing, and only spennding 18k on an 06 tahoe with 55k at BALISE. Congrats Bertera! you "sold" your way out of a pocket full of my cash! More

For the best car purchasing experience, I highly recommend Bertera Chevrolet. Even if you're not looking to buy a Chevy, they have a large inventory of other Makes and Models...there's something for recommend Bertera Chevrolet. The Salesmen there are all very helpful, easy-going and knowledgeable. No pressure, no games...just honesty and a genuine desire to help you. Nick Costanza helped me get into an brand new 2012 Chevy Cruze, which I absolutely love. I was able to go 410 miles on (1) tank of gas! I never felt this strongly about a dealership and from now on the only place I will purchase a vehicle will be with Bertera Chevrolet. More
Have four major issues with a $10000 van I purchased and the dealership refuses to fix the issues. Treats you as the bad guy when you have an issue. I brought back the van a week after I bought it and they the dealership refuses to fix the issues. Treats you as the bad guy when you have an issue. Pressured me to go above my budget for I quote "hell of a van" that should have been the van from hell. More
