Took my 2006 Ford Mustang in for service Revised review: After posting my original review I was contacted by Bill Estes Ford management (Brian Weddle) to investigate our issue and work out a Revised review: After posting my original review I was contacted by Bill Estes Ford management (Brian Weddle) to investigate our issue and work out an amicable solution. Brian was extremely interested in changing our perception of the dealership and was attentive to our concerns. He offered to rectify the issue and was more than fair with settling the matter. A good lesson for both parties was to ensure a complete understanding of the cost and service that they would be providing. I believe that we both agreed that the service reps need to explain any additional cost that may be incurred beyond what we assumed it would be, that way we could have questioned any increase prior to the service being performed. The revised rating is warrented in this case because the dealership personally reached out to us and was willing to listen to why we rated as we did. That speaks volumes to how much they want to please their customers. I want to personnaly thank Brian for his assistance in this matter and would recommend Bill Estes Ford. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Issue #1) I took my 2006 Mustang in for an Oil & Filter change. It states on the side of the Van outside that an oil change is $19.95 "for most models". I went to pick the car up and found that they charged me $59.95. I questioned the service rep about the charge and he said that they put in synthetic oil and a premium oil filter. This car is 11 years old and doen't require syntetic oil or a a premium oil filter. I expected to pay only what was advertised and was not told that it would be $40.00 more prior to the service.or I would have gone elsewhere. Issue #2) I asked the rep if they could check the front end because I noticed rattliing noises when I hit bumps in the road. To the credit of the rep, he did tell me that the cost of the check would cost $60.00 (even though this is an outrageous cost for this type of an inspection, I agreed). The inspection revealed Sway Bar Links and Tie Rod ends needs replaced. The rep called me and told me what was found and said that it would cost $1500.00 at which time I told him that I was a "Broke College Student and there was no way I could afford it and he proceeded to ask if I would do $1000.00 instead????????? This struck me as a bogus (scam) way to conduct business, I had to ask myself, How in the world could they drop the cost by 1/3 the price in an instant. I will no longer take my vehicle back to Bill Estes and furthermore, when I can afford a new vehicle, I will NOT even consider purchasing from Bill Estes. I now have to chuckle when I see their commercial where Bill states that they are not like a typical car dealership, I do agree with that statement in that they are worse. More

It was nice, modern and all, but when it came down to it, it was just another place to dicker over a car purchase. I will give them credit for the fact that they were willing to negotiate, unlike another Ford dealership close to where I live who brought me out a counter offer, and when I said I couldn't do that, he just stared at me like, "Well come back when you CAN." I was very angered when it came time for the initial credit app. Since no deal had been struck, I specifically asked the salesperson if this was to be a soft or hard credit app. I was assured it would be soft, so I went ahead. No sooner did he come back with a manager than I was notified via text that an inquiry had been placed against my credit record. Had it not been for my wife, I would have just gotten up and walked. Anyway, salesperson's knowledge about the car was pretty good, as he was able to answer all of my questions. I was a bit disappointed in the fact that he couldn't find me a set of factory front and rear splash guards that I wanted and instead tried to send me to an aftermarket place in Lebanon (I live south of Cumberland.) Especially disappointing due to the fact that I found them myself on the accessory page of the Ford website and had the dealer in Greenfield order and install them. One last gripe. The delivery detailing was very poor. The car had obviously bee washed and cleaned when they took it in, however the door jambs and the inside of the windshield were dirty. A full tank of gas would have been nice, too. Now I will say that Frank was able to find me this car in the first place, and he did a great job of finding pretty much what I wanted. I would have never found this on my own. To find a pre-owned car that pretty much checked off all the anchors I had for a car was a good job indeed. Overall, I'd say Frank was a decent salesperson with good product knowledge. Aftermarket product knowledge could use a bit of tweaking I suppose. As for the car itself, it is pretty much what I wanted, and as I said earlier, I probably never would have found it on my own. The entire car buying experience was very average; get what you want here, get pissed off there.... It was all give and take. The commercial with Bill Estes wanting my trust? That flew out the window big-time with the credit thing. I recommend this dealership because it is no worse than any other place I've been to. I probably won't be back simply because it is too far for me to drive for an oil change. More
