First time to Service Center I am new the the area so this was the first time visiting Bill Kay Nissan in Downers Grove. It started with an oil change where I was told I needed $ I am new the the area so this was the first time visiting Bill Kay Nissan in Downers Grove. It started with an oil change where I was told I needed $2000+ in repairs. I was not surprised as my Altima is 11 years old and I had not put much work into it. My disappointment started when I got back to my car that was not washed (although there were signs all over touting great service and car wash every time. I then had to go back in and ask about tire sensor light that was still on. My previous let you know about everything they found and explained to you. I felt a bit brushed off by the service tech who told me it was not worth fixing. I prefer to be told what’s wrong with the car and I make the decision whether to fix. My husband called the service manager, Eric as I did not walk out feeling great. They also discussed the pricing as we moved from a smaller market where repairs were not as expensive. Eric said he would “take care of us” was also told we wanted to change the sensor. So now it’s repair day where the Altima is there for the day. When I get the call the car is ready I asked about Eric “taking care of us” and the sensor. Tech had no knowledge of the conversation. Called me back and told me $100 discount was applied and “that’s all they can do.” I had not asked for more off. Just was never communicated what they did for discount. When I asked about the tire sensor I was told “we talked about this, it’s not worth fixing” I was not 100% sure the conversation Eric had with my husband so I dropped it. I then picked up my unwashed car (service visit #2 now where they did not live up to claims of washing car every time.) I left unacknowledged for any of the confusion. My husband called Eric back again and was told he did not know my car was in that day. Overall, are any of these things huge, no. But they all added up and i left feeling under serviced . A day later I’m wondering if twice they can’t follow protocols to wash “every car that is serviced “, how am I sure they completed all the service i paid them to complete. The experience was similar to old school car dealers from the 80’a. Just be prepared to be underwhelmed. . More
