I was searching for a good near in NJ for a new Subaru and the Autobytel service I've used contacted this dealer. Received an email from a Internet Salesman, Richard Knel, and asked him how much he charge and the Autobytel service I've used contacted this dealer. Received an email from a Internet Salesman, Richard Knel, and asked him how much he charged for a new Subrau WRX above invoice. He promptly responded saying they charge MSRP. So at the heat of the email exchange, I emailed back saying "stealership" which prompted him to call me twice within a few minute interval. Very nice customer service, I'm glad I got him mad because now I know how this dealership handles difficult situations. More
I really enjoyed dealing with Sam Texler. Sam also did not haggle over the price. He gave me a fair price for my lease up front and was not pushy with me when I asked for the weekend to consider whether to switch to a Subaru. When I returned on Monday after making the decision to go with a Subaru, Sam was very patient while I took a very long time to run the numbers through my head. When it came time to drop off my old lease at a (non-Subaru) dealership in New Jersey, Sam offered to pick me up and drive me back to Subaru and he arrived punctually. More
I locked in a lease price but couldn't sign the rest of paperwork due to time constraints and distance. My current lease was to expire in 2 4 weeks. I was in no rush to surrender current. Was given a sense of urgency due to earthquake in Japan thus price may increase. After research, I found this sales ploy pathetic. Outbacks are manufactured in USA?!! Wouldn't effect my locked in price. Other than that, was a great experience. More
We went to the dealership just to look at several cars with no idea of purchasing at that time. After talking with Richard and the way he treated us by answering all our questions and concerns we decided with no idea of purchasing at that time. this is the second purchase from this dealership by our family and both transactions were terrific. I HATE car shopping. Sam came back with a really good price, that didn't change when we showed up at the dealership. Very friendly service, we are pleased and will pick up our new car on Monday. Can't say enough about them, will recommend Sam and Bill Kolb to everyone we know. More
Dealt with Howard over the phone and email. Was quoted a price for a 2011 STI hatch. Agreed upon price and left deposit to buy car. Took a day off from work and drove 30 miles to dealership. When I got there, price was already listed on invoice and everything was good to go. Filled out all the necessary paperwork for financing and already received insurance card. Almost 2 hours later, was informed I was quoted the wrong price. Manager was unhelpful as mistake was made by Salesman. Price was already agreed upon and paperwork was already written up. Deal was off at this point as the salesman and manager would not honor the price I was originally quoted. More
Very aggressive pricing on auction-purchased or rental Subarus. A few things did rub me the wrong way though: making me wait as well as some phantom numbers in the financing that resulted in a higher pa Subarus. When I told the finance person "gotcha" -- she changed it. Also the service department is hit or miss. I have had them comp me things under warranty but they also mis diagnosed and failed to diagnose other things. More
We purchased a second hand car for our son through Gary Mendleson. We initially came for another car but it had been sold so he found us an alternative vehicle. As far as sales go, Sam Texler is a real 'straight shooter'. He is very patient, and answered the questions I asked. If he couldn't answer himself, he would find someone who could, or call me back after finding out. (And I asked a lot of questions). I take care of a fleet of high tech TV News vehicles, including satellite trucks, and live news vans. I'm sure that at one time or another, you've seen one of these trucks in and around NYC. Folks are always asking me about cars and trucks. Right off the bat, the price from Sam and Bill Kolb Jr. beat the price offered by a nation wide wholesale 'club' dealer.(And that dealer was much lower than the 3 other dealers I checked.)As far as the purchase experience, it is my pleasure to recommend Bill Kolb Jr. and Sam Texler their sales consultant.
