I have dealt with Bill Penney Toyota before and had a good experience, so I wanted to continue my business with them once I was ready to purchase a new vehicle. I feel like their service department is to good experience, so I wanted to continue my business with them once I was ready to purchase a new vehicle. I feel like their service department is top notch and always go to the dealership to have my vehicle serviced there. I feel like their sales department is very friendly and helpful, and although I feel my price could have been a little better, I feel like he did try to help me out. I would, and will return to Bill Penney Toyota for future vehicle needs. More
BIG MISTAKE!! I regret the day I drove onto the Bill Penney lot. I purchased a 2011 Outlander Sport, and was lied to repeatedly by the salesman and sales manager - but, they got the sale! The only req Penney lot. I purchased a 2011 Outlander Sport, and was lied to repeatedly by the salesman and sales manager - but, they got the sale! The only requirement I had for a new vehicle was that it have heated leather seats - everything else was negotiable. When they searched for a vehicle with this stipulation, the printouts did not specify leather, just the heated seat option. I specifically asked the salesman if heated seats come in cloth, and was told absolutely not - it would be a safety concern. They found a vehicle in another state, and ordered it to be delivered to HSV. I made the mistake of signing all of the paperwork, before the vehicle was on the lot. When the vehicle arrived, it had cloth heated seats. I immediately told the salesman that I wanted to cancel the deal. I was told that they would have leather installed, and I informed him multiple times that I was not interested in "aftermarket" leather. I was told over and over that the leather would be "factory leather" - LIE. He went so far as to explain that all of Mitsubishi vehicles are shipped with cloth, and there is a building right near the shipyard that installed the leather on all of them after they are received off of the ships - LIE. I agreed to let them install the leather. When I went to pick up the vehicle, much to my dismay, the seats were covered in aftermarket leather. I was assured it was the same, and that the warranty would cover - LIE. During the installation, something was broken on a plastic cover that mounts to the back of the back seat, that serves as a pass-through from the cargo area and the cover was left lying on the floor of the cargo area. I made two trips to Bill Penney Service to have this repaired, and after the 2nd trip, was handed a card with the phone number to the aftermarket accessories shop that installed the leather and was told that I would have to deal with them, because they broke something, and the leather IS NOT FACTORY INSTALLED!! Horrible customer service!! I will never do business with these dishonest people, and suggest you do not either!! More

The staff of Bill Penney is extremely friendly. Each person I came in contact with spoke to me and asked if I was being helped. I have had nothing but great experiences with the sales staff and service person I came in contact with spoke to me and asked if I was being helped. I have had nothing but great experiences with the sales staff and service staff in my years of dealing with them. Toyota is a great brand, but the staff of Bill Penney makes me want to continue doing business with them. More
The way they deal with customer was outstanding, and information that given by dealer sales person was very useful. Overall whole purchasing process was simple and easy to understand. Only thing that do information that given by dealer sales person was very useful. Overall whole purchasing process was simple and easy to understand. I shopped for a new 2011 Tacoma for three months and dealerships throughout the Southeast. Bill Penney Toyota was the only dealership which came through with the exact combination of equipment and exter dealerships throughout the Southeast. Bill Penney Toyota was the only dealership which came through with the exact combination of equipment and exterior/interior color I had requested. They located a truck in Mobile, AL and transported to Huntsville. I credit their entire staff in listening to my request and following through with the truck I was searching for. Senior Sales Consultant Tommy Terrell and Internet Sales Specialist DJ searched the entire country for this vehicle. No other Toyota dealership in the southeast which I contacted attempted to locate this truck. Great job and thanks to Bill Penney Toyota. John Folk Knoxville, Tennessee More
The Service Rep tried to tell me exactly what was wrong with my car and that the extended warranty "might or might not" cover it. She has not returned calls to me so far because I want to take the car el with my car and that the extended warranty "might or might not" cover it. She has not returned calls to me so far because I want to take the car elsewhere if the repair is not covered under the extended warranty. I have had other repair work done at this dealership. I was definitely not impressed by the pricing. Other Service Reps have been more friendly and forthcoming. They also seemed somewhat fuzzy as to what has actually been wrong with my car. So far, they have honored the extended warranty. My advice: know all you can about your problem before you go and stay away from Tammy. More
I had a '01 Echo that was having a problem when I would start the car it would make a really awful grinding/groaning noise, and I thought something was broken or breaking. I was treated like I knew nothing start the car it would make a really awful grinding/groaning noise, and I thought something was broken or breaking. I was treated like I knew nothing about the way a car should sound, and after leaving my car there all day it was given back with "no problem found". I started the car in their parking lot at the service department and it did it again. Still no admission from them that there was a problem. I traded the car with less than 29k miles on it at another dealership to buy my current car after being given the run around by Bill Penny (see next paragraph). I went to Bill Penny sales department to talk to them about buying an MR2 convertible and was informed that they don't make them any more (this was in 2003). I asked if they could order one for me, or get one from another dealership, and was told no. I asked if they could look through inventory at other dealerships and see if anyone else had one. They told me to go to Serra Toyota, and were very unhelpful all around. I took my '04 MR2 in for warranty work around 6000 miles (condensation in the tail light). I was told I had to leave the car there for them to fix it and could pick it up in the afternoon. Went back to pick it up and they hadn't looked at it, told me to bring it back the next day. Brought the car back the next morning, left it there all day, picked it up in the afternoon and was told they had to "order a part" for it, and I needed to bring it back again. They called me when the part came in, I took the car back up there, left it all day, picked it up in the afternoon. They told me they "ordered the wrong part", and they would have to order the correct part and I would have to bring the car back again. I look at the tail light and they had broken the tabs that hold the lens to the tail light enclosure when they tried to pry it apart. My car had spent three full days there (I had to get a ride from friends and family, very inconvenient). When I asked why they don't just order a new tail light and put it on there and send the defective one back the service manager was VERY snotty and rude and informed me that Toyota doesn’t work that way. There was a definite lack of communication about my problem, I would have liked to have been called when they found they couldn’t fix my problem rather than them holding onto my car all day. Toyota is an awesome brand (my family has owned 5 Toyotas), but I would not recommend this dealership for sales OR service. More
