(I researched, researched, and then researched some more) I shopped the “big box” car stores, online and off, but nevertheless I figured I’d call Tony Adcock. Tony had exactly what I wanted...and needed, but as it turned out what Tony showed me was just a little different than what I thought I wanted...and needed. The Durango Tony pulled out was EXACTLY the vehicle for which I was looking. I told him that was it, the one. Take it around the back, and hang a “SOLD” tag on it. I told Tony I would be by on a certain day and time to settle up and close the deal. When I arrived, everything was ready, Mallorie had all the documentation together and ready for my signature and Tony had the car ready to go and parked out front. He put my tags on it (all by himself, he did!) all the while Mallorie and I reminisced about old times, stopping only to sign the documents. Everyone knows what everyone pays for cars these days. It’s the people that count, relationships, familiar faces. You can shop for a car today with a few clicks on a computer, you can shop for a car at a “big box” car store, you can pick up a car at a multistory vending machine, and you can even have a car delivered to your front door by a truck...I just bet you won’t know who’s driving the truck.
