Beware: Even if you pay for a car in full-cash, Gurnee Hyundai will do a hard hit that lasts for 2 yrs on your credit score. If you finance the car, Gurnee Hyundai will do 2 hard hits that last for 2 year Hyundai will do a hard hit that lasts for 2 yrs on your credit score. If you finance the car, Gurnee Hyundai will do 2 hard hits that last for 2 years. This is the second time it happened. My husband purchased his new car in 2023, and I just purchased a new Hyundai 3-21-25. We specifically asked if we would get 2 hits on our credit. The salesman and the finance guy said, "only 1". This turned out not to be the case! There were 2 credit hits each on Transunion and Experian 3-21-25, the date I purchased the new car to get the cash rebate bonus. We both are proud of our credit history with no debts, with minimum hits. Even though I wanted to pay in cash, in order to get the $3k cash bonus, I had to finance part of it and was told that I can paid the balance off in 3 months in order for Gurnee Hyundai get their commission from the finance company. Dealership never took my trade in out of my name. Sold the car and now someone in a city I have never visited is getting moving violations/tickets in my name. Rude and unprofessional. Blew me off and blamed everyone from the state to the local dog catcher for the dealer not performing their duties. Looking for a vehicle, do not visit this dealership. Sales staff were great, but if the general manager is this awful at his job, I do not trust anything about them. Buy somewhere else. Will not be returning in the future and will let others know to steer clear. More
