If you are considering buying a car from one of those online car delivery 'hassle free' apps, in order !? ...They earned every one of them! If you are considering buying a car from one of those online car delivery 'hassle free' apps, in order to avoid the anxiety of a dealership, then Bondy's Ford Lincoln in Dothan, AL is the place to go! We decided to go with a dealership because of the astonishing amount of hidden fees and gimmicks ($4,000+ delivery, shipping, and non-refundable hold deposits, in our case). ...Since this is a review about Bondy's, I will save the rhetoric and nightmares about why one should avoid those online scams at any cost. My wife and I have been shopping around for some time for an F-150 with the Lariat or higher trim. I will be honest in saying, that from past experiences I dread working with most auto dealerships. I understand the anxiety of when the sharks start to circle the moment you drive on the lot. This is where Bondy's sets themselves apart from others. The Sales team at Bondy's Ford Lincoln are one of the most professional, helpful, and honest I have ever conducted business with. Not to mention military friendly! (*Not in the shady/scam way*) We stopped by Bondy's where we met Mr. Keener. He showed us the inventory they had. He did not pressure us at all and was very polite. We made it clear that we were still researching and comparing options at that time. He was understanding and gave us his business card when we left. A couple week later, we made revelations about the online vehicle purchasing front and decided to purchase in person. We went through many dealerships. They would promise us a specific vehicle (without taking the time to walk their lot and check if it was in stock). Every time we would get ready to make the long drive (luckily before), we would get a response, that they sold it, sometimes 'days before'. On the day we bought our truck, we drove to a dealership in Panama City. It was a beautiful Blue 2018 f-150 Platinum. Overpriced (KBB/NADA/EDMUNDS) for the 'excellent' condition it was listed. When we arrived, we were disappointed to find that it was in 'high end fair' condition at best. The paint had a lot of unrepaired damage, and the interior had a lot of wear for a 4 year old truck. Not to mention the mileage was high for the age. We could not make a serious offer. ***Upon leaving the dealership, I checked Bondy's website, and saw a red 2015 king ranch that was a dealer loaner when we were last there. It was a couple of years older than what we had been looking at, however, it had a lower mileage per year rate than the previous truck and was much cleaner. Not knowing if they would still have it, I decided to give Mr. Keener a call anyway to be sure. Despite it being the day of his daughter's wedding, this man called the dealership and placed a 2 hour hold on the truck. This would allow us enough time to drive from Panama City to Dothan to take a look at it. He did this knowing that I could have walked on the deal If we didn't like the truck. If that isn't dedication to customer service, I do not know what is! He connected me with Mr. Carter, who called me back with a courtesy call about an hour into the drive to let me know that someone else was taking a look at the vehicle. Despite a little 'dealership PTSD', I knew it was not anyone's fault, as this was prearranged before the hold. Mr. Keener was not at the lot, so he did not know about this arrangement. Despite of the small miscommunication, I received a call shortly after from Mr. Carter stating that the vehicle was still free! When we arrived, we were greeted politely and friendly (never pushy) by everyone. We were able to negotiate a good deal with Mr. Carter, that met all parties' needs. Mr. Williams, the finance manager did not try to pressure us into any extended warranties, games, or gimmicks. It was a simple 'do you want the extended warranty?' 'yes/no' 'moving on'... The hardest part of the whole process was being on hold with the insurance company! ***Long answer short, if you are looking for a great deal, *without games, pressure, or hidden prices* then Bondy's Ford Lincoln of Dothan is the place to go!
