On February 3rd, 2014 I bought a 1996 Lexus 400 SL from Cal West Motors. I went to Cal West because I know they have been in business since 1981 which tells me they are doing something right. I found out they were car dealer of the year in 2013 for the state of California. I am not surprised. Their lot is neat and tidy. All cars are clean and shinning. They only have cars that are in good condition. Thanks to Craig the process was painless. The last car I bought from a dealer was one of the worst experiences of my life. Not so with Craig. I got a used car in good condition for a great price. Now that it's been almost two month since I purchased this car for my son in which he loves. I called the shop that Cal West had referred me to and they stated that I needed some break work. I was prepared to pay for the break job the next day when I took it back but the shop said that Cal West will go ahead and pay for the entire job. This is something that they didn't have to do given the fact that the car was sold as is. I personally don't expect for a used car to be in perfect condition. The car that I purchased is 14 years old. I will say that even if I had to pay for the break work, I would have considered them a good dealership. The difference is that now I consider them a great dealership! I also want to say that Brian is a super friendly and knowledgeable salesman. More

I drove 40 miles to check out a car here shown on Craig's List. The condition of car easily met the expectations of the ad, which was a huge relief, since often in my used car search I'd often chec Craig's List. The test drive was mostly straight-forward, but I did notice a slight shake which could've been from wheel mis-balancing. I expressed my concern and wanted to get the issue resolved just to be sure the issue something more sinister. To address my concerns, the dealership was very proactive in taking the vehicle to a nearby tire shop to resolve the issue and allowed me to tag along. I give credit to Matt for going the extra distance to make sure I was satisfied that the wobble was taken care of. Additionally, I really appreciate that Matt later picked me up at the BART station as I needed to do some car shuffling after I had purchased the car. Even though I was interested in just one car, I noticed the lot at Cal West Motors had a selection many nice looking used cars. They focus on buying one owner vehicles with clean Car Fax reports which they share. My particular vehicle looked pristine for being a 2001. If you are getting turned off to used cars because they don't seem so nice, definitely come by here, as there selection is in great shape and you won't feel like you're wasting your time. I rated the price category a 4 only because the car was slightly overpriced, and I knew this going in. There was some wiggle room and if you find issues w/ the car during your inspection process the dealership was game for adjusting the price. They were very encouraging of allowing me to get the vehicle checked out, and I never felt any sales pressure. Overall, this felt like a good place to buy a used car. I'd recommend visiting them, and a thanks to Matt, Craig, Aaron, Terri, and the team at Cal West for making my buying experience positive. More
