The salesperson we initially worked with at Camelback Subaru was pleasant and professional. Unfortunately, the experience was completely overshadowed by the conduct of her manager. The manager repeatedly interrupted our conversation by coming out to speak with us directly. During this time, he invited my husband and me to his house in Idaho, then went on to tell me I needed to bring him a woman, providing a detailed description of what that woman should look like. This was wildly inappropriate, uncomfortable, and completely unacceptable in a professional setting. He repeatedly promised us “the deal of a lifetime,” but when it came time to actually negotiate, he refused to budge at all. He took over the salesperson’s desk, told her to find another chair, and barked orders at her throughout the process. Despite refusing to negotiate, he then accused us of not being willing to negotiate. We left the dealership. After we got home, the salesperson called and offered $1,000 off the last price. At that point, we explained how uncomfortable the manager had made us and asked to work with someone else. She thanked us for bringing it to her attention and said she would notify another manager. Later, a second manager called us—not to address the behavior—but to tell us that the first manager was “a good guy” he’d known for years and that he could sometimes be “a little too nice.” When my husband attempted to restart price negotiations, we were told the offer was no longer available and that we could instead receive a free oil change next time we came in. We chose not to continue doing business there and have no interest in ever conducting any maintenance on our vehicle there ever again. We went to Chandler Subaru instead and had an excellent experience—professional, respectful, straightforward negotiations, and no harassment. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Camelback Subaru, especially if you expect respectful treatment or accountability from management. More

Have bought an Outback & a Forester at Camelback Subaru in Phoenix. 2013 Outback had overheating issues after the 90,000-mile service, so I traded it in on a newer Forester. My 2021 Forester was just in Phoenix. 2013 Outback had overheating issues after the 90,000-mile service, so I traded it in on a newer Forester. My 2021 Forester was just in for some vandalism repair work & 60,000 mile servicing. Parts were ordered in a timely fashion by Dejon in Service Dept. & Mitch in Parts. Shoutouts to both! Appointments were readily available. I was able to use a coupon for a free loaner. Chloe , Service Director , is great to work with, knowledgeable & very competent. Kudos to Chloe!
