Service was completed at the end of March 2026. I ordered tires through the part department. I was expecting the same Goodyear Wrangler 10 ply Kevlar tire that I had installed at the dealer las I ordered tires through the part department. I was expecting the same Goodyear Wrangler 10 ply Kevlar tire that I had installed at the dealer last year. The tires were the 4 ply Kevlar tires; not getting the 10 ply tires was slightly disappointing. This was partially my fault for not asking for details about the tires when requesting the tires. I had assumed that Capital GMC would have access to records for the tires that they ordered last year, and would have ordered the same tires again. Another minor nit was the valve stem covers were not put on the new tires. I realize this is a minor oversight; yet it is part of the "finished" appearance and service. I ordered valve covers from Amazon, and installed them myself. On the positive side, the 4 ply tires were less expensive. Hopefully they will work well for my needs when towing my travel trailer. I also had an oil change. The service representative tried to upsell me on an oil change service package, that included the DEF. I declined to have the oil change package (with DEF0 and requested the oil change only, as I had recently added the DEF. When I picked up my truck, there were charges for 2 containers of DEF (one nearly full one was left in the back seat). I was surprised and a little annoyed that the upsell service had been performed! This non-requested service added to the total cost of the service; I am retired, and on a fixed income - I try to avoid spending extra money when possible. That said, the DEF was topped off and I have a nearly full container of DEF to refill it in the future. I might have taken up my dissatisfaction with the recent service at Capital GMC closer to the time it was completed. However, the reason for taking my Sierra 2500 for service at the time was for a planned trip shortly after the service. The trip was outstanding. My truck ran great with its new tires and fresh oil change. When I got back, the frustrations from the service had dissipated to a degree. More
