I took in my truck for a Manufacturers Safety recall. My truck had symptoms with the steering system exactly described in the safety recall notification. The dealership called me to tell me that the reca My truck had symptoms with the steering system exactly described in the safety recall notification. The dealership called me to tell me that the recall was performed but there was still a lingering problem. They would not tell me what it was until I authorized a 190.00 charge. I was leery of this and asked a lot of questions. None of what I was told made logical sense to me so I decided to pick up my truck. When i got to the dealership my truck power steering was totally disabled. I drove it in; now I could not drive it out. I complained about the compromising position I was now put in. The dealership said it was my problem; not theirs. I contacted Chevrolet Customer Care. After explanation of the situation and several days of evaluation, I was told that Capitol Chevrolet would pick up my truck by wrecker and diagnose it for me so I would have the facts to get my truck fixed. They said all I had to do was contact he dealership and make arrangements. I left a lot of unreturned messages for almost a week before I made contact with my original service advisor. I communicated what Customer Care had told me to do and he said it was all untrue. He said the dealership would not work with me or Chevrolet Customer Care under the circumstances.
