I made an appointment for a recall service. When I showed up for my appointment, they did not have the part. They should reserve that part for the customer when they make the appointment. They told me there is no communication between the appointment desk and the parts or service department - WHAT??? I asked how does one go about ensuring the parts will be available. I was told either just show up or make an appointment!!! I did make an appointment! I called to speak with a manager. Of course no one was available. I left my number for a manager to call me back. Of course no one called me back for several hours so I called back at the end of the day. I was finally able to speak to someone to let them know it is terrible customer service to make an appointment then give the part away. We argued back and forth, him telling me the parts are in large demand, they only receive a few at a time, etc. I reiterated that when I made the appointment, they checked and stated there was a part available, and made my appointment. At that point they should have set aside that part for me, He stated that’s not how it works. Terrible customer service. I received a call a bit later stating they had found a part and would save it for me for the next day. Ok fine. I went to my appointment and once again was told there was no part. I could not believe it. Luckily I was sent a text message with the fella’s name. I showed the guy helping me the text. He went into the office and someone came out, asked my name, and said he had my part. It would take a few hours. They no longer have a service to drive you home. I asked to rent a car, they said none available. I mentioned “so I have to call an uber?” Yes. Later the Uber driver told me that the dealerships call Ubers for customers. Capitol Subaru never offered me that service. Another person who goes to the Steven’s Creek dealership told me they always get him an Uber. I should have known better about Capitol Subaru after my negative experience last winter. I was ready to buy a car. I knew exactly what I wanted and there were no cars available in the Bay Area, but I found one online in CA that could be delivered to San Jose. I contacted Capitol Subaru and they made me an appointment to come down to sign the paperwork. When I arrived, the salesperson I had been dealing with was with another customer so the sales manager was helping me. Rather than sign the paperwork for the car I wanted though, he tried for 45 minutes to pressure me to buy one of the cars on the lot. By the time he figured out I couldn’t be swayed, the car I wanted was sold. I ended up buying from another dealership and had the car delivered to my house. I will never visit Capitol Subaru again, even though it is the closest one to my house. More

The team was responsive, put together a compelling offer, and found the car we wanted at a price that fit our budget. We prepared all the paperwork in advance for a seamless delivery. Although we arrived late for pickup, the team ultimately helped us move quickly. However, this required some pushing on our end, and it would have been better if they had proactively planned for a fast process, given we had flagged that in advance. More
