This is the second vehicle purchased from CarMax in Danvers, MA and both experiences were exceptional. The test drive, registration and delivery process couldn't have been smoother. My experience here was great! I came in from out of state wanting to leave with a car and Derrick was incredibly patient and helpful throughout the process. I came in from out of state wanting to leave with a car and Derrick was incredibly patient and helpful throughout the process. More

I decided not to buy the vehicle until a couple weeks later. The buying process was very easy even though I financed through a different bank. I noticed the vehicle needed an alignment and they preformed that service before I picked it up. My only complaint was the vehicle was not fully cleaned on the inside. It was vacuumed, and that was about it. My 3rd vehicle purchase from CarMax. More
the agent i worked with was wonderful, and went above and beyond to make the process easy and help fix problems that arose that weren't in her control. my complaints/reasons for only 3/5 stars is that the pr beyond to make the process easy and help fix problems that arose that weren't in her control. my complaints/reasons for only 3/5 stars is that the process for a NH driver to get their new car's title (which isnt a crazy concept, its close to the border and plenty of other places have this type of thing happen) ends up being unnecessarily drawn out. NH requires a title/title app to get permanent plates, and since carmax apparently cant give you the title in person when you buy the car, it forces you to get temp plates from the DMV (which the DMV will give you a LOT of grief about). then carmax requires further confirmation of your mailing address by phone (even though you were just there in person to confirm it multiple times and you were told verbatim by their business office when you handed over the check that nothing else was needed before they would mail you the title) before they can send you your registration packet containing the title. i know there's red tape because NH drivers registering a car they bought in MA will include extra steps to avoid the sales tax on the purchase, so I'm not blaming anyone at Carmax for that, but it seems from the outside that their business office doesnt operate with much urgency in this type of situation, and now i'm going to be getting my title in the mail only a day or two before my temporary registration expires, after buying the car nearly three weeks ago. it seems like it would be better for everyone all around if they could just give it to you when you buy the car; i'd certainly have been willing to wait an extra little bit of time that day i bought the car, if it meant i didnt have to worry about it for three weeks after the purchase. im sure i could have also done things differently to help the process along; one of my lessons learned was: if my phone says "potential spam", i should pick up anyway because it could be carmax calling to confirm my mailing address once again. but really i just am leaving this review to emphasize that the process needs to be fixed overall, the business office needs to find a way to give the title to the customer when they buy the car, or at least confirm the mailing address before they leave the premises, or at the VERY least tell them to expect that phone call for one more additional phone confirmation of the mailing address you provided and confirmed in person. Service was slacking supposed to be ready to pick up one day and it wasn’t, the salesman was good. The business office was good all came back down to the service of the car getting it ready. Had an issue wi day and it wasn’t, the salesman was good. The business office was good all came back down to the service of the car getting it ready. Had an issue with the windshield. They changed it, the windshield did not fit the car by appearances, service was gonna call us about a post visit or post service because we took the car, we never heard from the service department. I ended up taking the car to Safelite auto glass myself. They looked up the history of the car by the VIN, they told me the rearview mirror attachment point was broken off the window, so they install a third windshield which is now good. More

When we had the time to see the car, they said we could only talk with and work with the salesman we initially made contact with. We had only a specific time window to do this because we both work... and receptionist said that we could not be taken care of by anyone else. We asked to speak with manager and were told they would not be able to help us. More
