The buying experience was very good, with the sales representative, Riyad, helping us to find the perfect vehicle for our needs, whilst applying no pressure for us to make a decision. However, our exp representative, Riyad, helping us to find the perfect vehicle for our needs, whilst applying no pressure for us to make a decision. However, our experience with the Service Centre was not satisfactory, with our calls going unanswered and a failure to keep us advised on the situation regarding a replacement part that was needed. Hence the 4star rating. More
Fast process. Kind and helpful. Stuck with our appointment time. Was accommodating of physical limitations and made things easier. Kind and helpful. Stuck with our appointment time. Was accommodating of physical limitations and made things easier. More

Car Max is AOK. I had a issue where the vehicle I was to purchase was used as a loaner vehicle and I had to wait a few days to complete the transaction. I had a issue where the vehicle I was to purchase was used as a loaner vehicle and I had to wait a few days to complete the transaction. More
I had a great experience with Shan except I was promised a courtesy that they didn't honor despite following up multiple times. This completely soured the experience. a courtesy that they didn't honor despite following up multiple times. This completely soured the experience. More
A large and busy dealership - but my experience was uniformly positive in every respect. The whole process of purchasing my new vehicle took less than 90 minutes. Indrit was very helpful, but also allowed me to set the pace. Once I knew the I wanted the car, we were in and out in 2 hrs. Way quicker than my previous experience. pace. Once I knew the I wanted the car, we were in and out in 2 hrs. Way quicker than my previous experience. More
I purchased a 2023 Nissan Rogue S from the CarMax location in Sterling, Virginia. While I appreciate that CarMax Corporate ultimately took my concerns seriously and the employee I worked with at the location in Sterling, Virginia. While I appreciate that CarMax Corporate ultimately took my concerns seriously and the employee I worked with at the service desk communicated well throughout the repair process, my overall experience with the Sterling service department was extremely disappointing because of repeated quality-control failures. Before taking delivery, I pointed out several cosmetic and cleanliness issues and was assured they would all be addressed before I took the vehicle home. The next day, I saw the vehicle in daylight and discovered that many of those issues remained. The passenger seat still had two noticeable stains, there was coffee splatter across the headliner, lipstick on the steering wheel, residue around the Nissan emblem, a dirt shoe print on the back of the passenger seat, and damage to the front bumper. I wasn't expecting a used vehicle to be perfect, and I even cleaned several small items myself. My concern was being told the vehicle had already been detailed when there were still obvious issues requiring professional attention. When I tried calling the dealership, every extension went to a voicemail box that was either full or disconnected. I eventually drove back because I couldn't reach anyone by phone. I then spent approximately three and a half hours waiting while the vehicle was supposedly detailed and repaired. When I got it back, the bumper had only been covered with rough touch-up paint, the headliner still had coffee stains, and the dirt shoe print remained. At that point, I contacted CarMax Corporate. To Corporate's credit, the response was much different. Another repair was arranged, the bumper was properly repainted, the headliner was finally cleaned, and a defective key fob was replaced. I appreciate that those issues were ultimately corrected. Unfortunately, the quality-control issues continued. The passenger seat still wasn't properly cleaned, so I shampooed it myself. The promised child-seat anchor cover was never installed, so I ordered one from Nissan. A tire valve stem cap was missing, so I replaced that myself. The day after picking up my vehicle, it rained, and I discovered one of the windshield wipers wasn't even attached. I had to stop at Advance Auto Parts during my trip to install a windshield wiper before I could safely continue driving. While I hadn't noticed it before taking delivery, I believe that's exactly the type of issue a pre-sale inspection should catch. By the end of this process, I had spent countless hours returning to the dealership, waiting for repairs, coordinating with Corporate, and ultimately fixing several remaining issues myself because I no longer had confidence that another trip would resolve them. My concern isn't with the people who communicated with me—it's with a pattern of work being represented as complete when it either wasn't completed or wasn't adequately inspected. I hope this feedback helps improve quality-control procedures at the Sterling location so future customers receive the experience I expected when I chose CarMax. More
Just bought my 3rd car at CarMax. It was very similar every time. I find a car in their nationwide inventory, ship it to the local dealer for $150 or so, come in to test drive, buy an It was very similar every time. I find a car in their nationwide inventory, ship it to the local dealer for $150 or so, come in to test drive, buy and leave in about an hour. This was a Prius with 6k miles and one ding in one door you can hardly see. I declined MaxCare this time since I didn't use it all last time and I've still got 2 years of warranty on this newish one.
