I ordered a Lexus LC 500 on carmax with the car in NJ and needing to get shipped. Ordering such a nice car online was very stressful because you are forced to pay a nonrefundable $2k shipping before even se needing to get shipped. After a couple weeks, the car came in. It was raining and so a bit difficult to view the car outside, but that was all I had to go with since it was going to rain for a few days. I was told that as soon as I test drive it that I have to process payment otherwise it goes to the showroom. Ok fine, test drove it, incredible car as expected and overall in good condition. However, there were multiple scuff marks around the car, and the interior was dirty. Like grime, not trashed. I pointed this out , along with the exterior scuffs, and the tacky carmax decal. I said I'll take the vehicle but I need this $100k car detailed. They said sure thing, just sign the papers and pick up tomorrow. Well tomorrow comes, and I'm not sure if the car got washed or it was just out in the rain. But it definitely wasn't detailed. The car was still grimey, but at least the decal was gone. I was very disappointed that they couldn't clean the car up for a dealership. As I drove away, I saw the mileage and the car had like 50 more miles than when I ordered it from NJ!!! Some folks just took it for a joyride. The whole process felt like a factory line. Waiting times and just in and out of patrons. Very disappointed in the quality of service and delivery of the car. It's definitely the last time I go with Carmax. Not worth the shipping fees and questionable service. The guy admitted that the shipping folks aren't that careful with the cars. More
I had a car transferred the tracking system was nice, although the car took much longer to arrive. Once it arrived it had issues. A lot. Once i drove off two parts fell off. Care stayed extra days due to a error in which they blamed the charging part of the car (prius) Corina is the only thing that stopped me from giving a 1 start she was so professional and nice Breanna answering the phone was so rude she should not be answering calls. Overall experience was good especially with my sales rep . She was knowledgeable, professional and didn't try to sell me anything I wasn't interested in and was very pleasant with the upgrades in maintenanc . My only negative would be the length of time for the grounds crew to evaluate my well kept 2020 Rav 4 used as a trade in - even when I had filled in the Trade In Quote sheet requested And finance took forever because a new hire took in the paperwork and somehow lost it when actually entering it into the system - So everything had to be re-done . Fortunately the assigned Sales Rep stuck with me and sincerely apologized for the mishap. - Nice that CarMax also gives it's customers a full tank of fuel before driving off with their newly acquired purchase More
