Good Afternoon Joan, My name is Matt Testa I am the Parts and Service Director for all Fixed Operation here at Carolina Volkswagen. I have had a very in depth conversation with Miranda my BDC manager who you have been in communication with. I have also taken the time to sit Charles down this afternoon to find out exactly what the story is and why you were quoted brake pads on your vehicle. Lastly I have pulled the hard copy of the repair order and spoken with the technician who completed the service. You are 100% correct, Written down on the repair order and what was told to Charles the service advisor is that the brake pads were currently at 3 mm. That is why Charles spoke with your son about having the brake pads replaced. With all of this being said after speaking to the technician he stated that he inspected the brake pads thru the wheel not with the wheel being removed and that is why they appeared low because he did not have a clear view of them. That is 100% the incorrect way! It was presented to Charles with the measurements and in turn that is how your son was quoted brake pad replacement. I can assure you that had you approved the brakes and the vehicle went to one of my main-shop technicians when the wheels were removed and the brake pads inspected properly they would have stopped right there and alerted their advisor. I will be addressing this issue with our entire shop and it will be very precisely communicated on how we do business and the proper way every brake inspection is completed. I certainly apologize and I can completely reassure you that this is not how our business is conducted. We have a great reputation with our customers for honesty and integrity. We stand behind everything we do as a company and I personally work hard every day to build the relationships we have with our customers just like you. With all of this being said I thank you for speaking out about this and informing me about your problem. This should never have happened. Your Tech specialist are suppose to be specialist in this field. My review stands. How, do I know you would have not replaced them anyway? I have truly lost faith in your dealership.

I completely understand and your a million percent right, It should have never happened! We run an honest and trusted repair facility and I hold all of my employees to a very high standards. In this case it was 1 technician who is training and did not inspect the brake pad properly by getting a clear view by removing the wheel to inspect them. He has been talked to and apologized. Had you approved those repairs that technician would not have been the one to work on your brakes, I truly believe the it would have been question and not completed by the main shop technician when he went to remove them. I can only hope that someday you will give us a chance to earn your trust and confidence in our dealership again. At any point in time I would be more than happy to discuss this further with you.
