Located originally at 317 Lexington Ave. , the dealership moved to its present location in 1997. It is only fitting, since the present location on Broadway, was the original site of the beginning of the growth of the Cavender brand in South Texas.
Started by James M. Cavender, and his twin sons, Jimmy and Billy, the dealerships are now moving into the 3rd generation of Cavenders.

Cavender Cadillac sold me a 2026 Cadillac Lyriq in February of 2026. Since then the Air conditioning has broken twice and the semi autonomous system has failed twice. This Monday I’ll be dropping it o February of 2026. Since then the Air conditioning has broken twice and the semi autonomous system has failed twice. This Monday I’ll be dropping it off for the third time in 5 months. I am a U.S. Army Veteran and still serve in the reserves which because of their Veteran friendly nature is why I drove from Rockwall,TX to buy specifically from them. I gave them $7,500 down payment and was told Cavender would take care of me. When my car broke for the second time I called them because I have a lemon law situation they told me I have to work with GMC and they couldn’t or wouldn’t help. I offered to bring my car all the way back to them in San Antonio at my own cost so they could be the servicing dealership and assist me with a lemon law situation. They again turned that down and said I had to keep going to the local dealership which isn’t where I purchased the vehicle. I am now having to retain a lawyer because GMC denied the buy back and offered me the equivalent of $500 in GMC points as a settlement. This is the worst vehicle I have ever owned and the worst experience I have ever had. Pictured is vehicle failures and my 1 year old daughter after the vehicles air conditioning completely failed when she was in the car. Taken care matters until they drive off the lot and actually need the help instead of battling GMC as whole to do what is right. More

Val Panayotov and the team at Cavender Cadillac are excellent. Even when I decided on a different vehicle during the middle of the sale, they made an adjustment and continued working with me making th excellent.
