Stand by a loyal returning customer? No they don't We purchased a 2012 Dodge Caravan on July 15, 2014 from Century Dodge. Today is July 19, 2015 and this year, the engine, gas tank, computer and We purchased a 2012 Dodge Caravan on July 15, 2014 from Century Dodge. Today is July 19, 2015 and this year, the engine, gas tank, computer and transmission have been replaced. The vehicle has less than 65,000 miles on it. We called and talked to the "sales manager" Annette Painter and asked for a meeting to discuss our extreme displeasure with the car. She told us over the phone that she was "sorry and understood our feelings" and would "make it right" by us. We drove the same day and spoke privately with Ms. Painter in an office. We had all our forms and invoices that included the sale and service that had been performed on the vehicle. She seemed to be empathetic to our situation and again repeated that she would "make it right" by us. I pointed out that I had purchased two other vehicles from the dealer and she again said that she would definitely "make it right". When I stated that I didn't feel that the vehicle was reliable and that I didn't want to own it any longer as it is used everyday as a family vehicle and my everyday car, she agreed with me that, she too, felt the car was unreliable. When I stated that I didn't want to own a Chrysler any longer,and wanted to go with a Ford, she told us that she "didn't blame us" and we were more than welcome to talk with the associates at Century Ford next door. She made a call and told the associate Carol, whom we never met when we got to Century Ford because she had "stepped out" in the 45 seconds it took for us to go next door, to "take care of the gentlemen that I'm sending over to you. They've had a bad experience with Dodge and would like to look at Ford now". Wow! Not any attempt to keep us with Chrysler or an attempt to see what it would take to keep us as returning customers. Is that how a sales manager deals with loyal 3 time returning customers? Annette Painter did. I won't go into the, as I see it, horrible experience of the Ford dealer, but suffice it to say, I wouldn't recommend this dealer any longer. I am/was a 3 time purchaser of Chrysler vehicles from Century Dodge and the experience I've had with my current one and this dealer has made me bitter and disappointed. We were told Century Dodge would "make it right" and "step up" for us and all we got was a trade in deal on a Ford that ended up with an absurd price. And the rub is, they tried to make it seem like they were empathiteic and were going to really do something for us. What we got was treated poorly. I mean what should have I expected when we walked in and one sales associate was spreading cream cheese on a bagel and eating it at the front desk? Isn't there a break room? I, in my opinion, feel that Century Dodge will sell you a vehicle, but when that vehicle is clearly not up to the "superior quality" that they tout during the sale, as the encourage you to buy the extended warranty, they WILL NOT stand behind the vehicle. The first van he found ended up getting sold, so he went into action to find another. Delivery ended up being a little slow, but other than that we were most pleased with our experience with Century. This is the fifth car we have bought at Century in the 25 years we have lived in Mount Airy. We have always been happy we bought there and we have been extremely pleased with their service department. The service folks, especially Paul, go above and beyond to provide excellent service and complete the work when promised. I would recommend Century to anyone who asks to buy a vehicle or to get a vehicle serviced. More
