"New Tires Needed on a New Jetta with Only 21,000 Miles "

2017 VW Jetta purchased in 11/2016 from Checkered Flag. I took my car back to Checkered Flag in 2/17 & 4/17 for oil changes & tire rotations. Came back 9/16/17 for an oil change & State inspection only to learn that my front tires were bad. The Bridgestone tires that were on the car when purchased were worn to the silver chords or almost through on the inside front tires. I asked how this could happen if the tires had been rotated the last 2 visits & was told normal wear & tear. Also, Derek nor the Robert could find in the computer system on the past 2 oil changes that my tires had in fact been rotated. I feel that my tires were not rotated as I asked on the previous 2 oil changes. The Bridgestone tires were 70,000 mile tires & the car only has 21,000 miles on it to date. I had no choice but to purchase 2 new front tires in order to pass the State inspection. I will not be back nor will I recommend Checkered Flag service department or sales to any one. This was a rip off & I shouldn't have had to replace 2 front tires at only 21,000 miles regardless.

"Poor Quality Repairs"

In April 2016 I took my car to Checkered Flag for routine maintenance. While there they told me my battery was going bad. I found that odd since I had experienced no trouble with it. It had been covered in ice for a week, keep in storage for over a year and generally just not driven but had always started without a moments hesitation. But since this was a Hyundai dealership I took them at their word and had the battery replaced. Skip forward 6 months and after sitting for a whopping 7 days in 30-60 degree weather my "new" battery failed to even open the car doors much less start. A phone call to AAA and I was on my way to the dealership to figure out what was up. What did they have to say about my battery? The lady on the phone suggested I just let it sit too long without driving it. The service manager implied I had left the lights on (they are automatic and even when they are not they shut off). He then told me my mistake was having the car jumped. I should have called them and they would have sent a tow truck to bring my car to them so they could see for themselves it wouldn't start. Only then would the warranty be any good. Needless to say I will not be going back there again unless my car is being towed there to get the battery replaced. I am rating them good in friendliness only because I saw an employee help a mother and daughter make hot chocolate not due to anything I experienced.

"Excellent Customer Service"

I had my Hyundai Sonata serviced today and was very satisfied with the customer service. Nicole greeted me and my son at the car and process the paperwork In a quick, efficient manner. She even told the time she would call with an update on my cars progress. I recently had to have work done to the roof of my car due to the hurricane and I wish Checkered Flag Hyundai was on my insurance repair list. THAT establishment needs to take lessons on customer service from Nicole at Checkered Flag Hyundai !!

"On Vacation far from home"

I was on vacation down at Virginia Beach with my two young boys when my 2003 VW Eurovan broke down on our way out of town heading home to Pennsylvania. I had it towed to Checkered Flag Volkswagen and the staff there was right on it. They diagnosed the problem and ordered the part overnighted from Knoxville, TN. Keep in mind this was a Friday in the late afternoon. The mechanic Will, who worked on my van, was amazing. He even stayed after his shift to make sure that my van was ready. And when I had another problem 40 miles from the dealership he came and fixed it so I could get home. Krystal in the service department was extremely helpful and kept the communication with me completely up to date. I wish this dealership was in my backyard. I am very grateful to the dedicated staff at Checkered Flag!!! Thank you Thank you Thank you :)

"Best service advisor at Checkered Flag Hyundai"

I had to take in my Veloster for service and have been working with Mario in Service. I have never had such a great experience at a dealership before. Mario has been bending over backwards to help me in any way that he can. I highly recommend that if you have a Hyundai that needs service, you bring it here and specifically ask for Mario to be your service advisor.

Horrible service center assistance, refused to service my car after several attempts within a 3 weeks timeframe, continued to provide misleading information to avoid resolving the issue, they tried to get me to pay for a service clearly covered under my warranty, I had to diagnose my car myself with a mechanic beside me and I am not very savy in this area, end result my car was not completely serviced after being given the run around and there is an additional issue after the service center has handled my car.

I showed up at 5pm on a Friday with my car towed for a broken Hilary at part service and Robert at installation did a great job. Robert offered to stay longer as I needed to leave early the next day. He quoted me a time of 6:30pm and the car was ready at 6:25pm.
