After a week of traveling to various dealerships in the northern Illinois area, it was very refreshing to visit Grossinger Chevrolet of Palatine. When I told him I was also looking at a similar vehicle at their sister dealership in the city, he offered to go down to the city dealer and bring the car back up to the Palatine lot so I could look at both cars side by side and make a direct comparison. I was able to see both cars at the same time and test drive them in the same visit. The ability to do this not only made my decision easy, but also gave me peace of mind that I made the right decision. Not only did Darrick go down to the other dealership, and convince them to let him bring the car back to the Palatine dealership, but he drove down to get the car on his day off. This really impressed me (as I only found out after the fact) and showed me that he was willing to do what was best for the customer. After agreeing on a price that I was comfortable with, I worked with Fred Kodroff of the finance team. Even though I had already negotiated a low apr with my bank, he offered to quote apr's from a few other banks and was able to find an even lower apr for me. It was a pleasure to work with the associates of Grossinger Chevrolet in Palatine; I appreciate their assistance in finding a terrific car and offering me a great deal that I was very comfortable with. I was looking to buy my wife a car and I live a few towns over from the dealership. There is a Chevy dealership closer to me but my past experiences there were poor. My sales man Mike Momon was not only the nicest salesman I have ever dealt with, he also took better care of me than anyone I have ever dealt with anywhere! He got my exactly what I was looking for in the price range that was comfortable for me. I did some internet pricing and negotiating and we cut to the chase. The vehicle price was perfect, Rudy the finance manager I know went beyond the call of duty to get me financed. Not only that but the finance rate was very low. They were very patient with me and made sure I was satisfied. There service department staff are very nice and proffesional. Marco made sure I was taken care of, shuttle was ready to take me to work when I needed to bring my car in to have an accesory installed. There valet people are the best, great respectful workers. I called Tim and told him I was coming in to look at Used Cadillac CTS's. When I showed up, he had them staged in front of the dealer and running(it was heat of summer) to cool them off. On 6/22/2010 I visited grossingerpalatinechevrolet.com, to look at their used car inventory. For me buying a car was the equivalent of going to the dentist. I went to Grossinger looking for either a used (2009 or 2010) or new Malibu. When I walked into the showroom, Tim Abdullah immediately greeted me in a very friendly and professional manner. We sat and talked about what I was looking for in what price range. He then took me out to the lot to test ride a couple of vehicles. He was knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. If it was something he was not sure about, he asked someone on the floor. He was not at all pushy. He listened to what I wanted and matched me to what I was looking for. I told him I could not buy the vehicle that night but that I wanted to return the next evening. Although it was his day off the next day, he gave me his cell number and asked me to call before returning to the dealership. I called him the next evening and as promised, Tim came in. The negotiation was easy and stress free. He never pushed and did not try to "up sell". He just wanted to match me with what I was looking for. He was always very polite and cordial. I made the purchase and Tim has been excellent with follow up, calling me several times to make sure I was still pleased with the purchase.
