I purchased a used truck from Chevrolet of Wooster, and within a day, the Check Engine light came on. After running a diagnostic scan, I found clear evidence that the dealership erased an existing error co within a day, the Check Engine light came on. After running a diagnostic scan, I found clear evidence that the dealership erased an existing error code before selling the truck. Here’s the proof: ✅ Mileage at dealership: 74,277 miles (as documented in the sales contract). ✅ Mileage now: 74,767 miles (only 490 miles driven since purchase). ✅ OBD scan data: Shows the Check Engine code (U062F – Lost Communication with Coolant Pump "C") was cleared exactly 490 miles ago, meaning it was reset right before the sale. ✅ Only 7 engine starts since the code was cleared, proving the truck was barely used after the reset. ✅ The Check Engine light reappeared at 74,510 miles – only 230 miles after the sale, meaning the problem wasn’t fixed, just hidden. When I contacted Chevrolet of Wooster for an explanation, they completely ignored my messages. Instead of addressing the issue, they chose to ghost their customer after knowingly selling a truck with a hidden mechanical defect. This is dishonest and unethical. If you’re considering buying a vehicle here, I strongly recommend getting an independent inspection BEFORE purchase because their "inspection" clearly doesn’t disclose known problems. I am attaching photos at google reviews and yelp of the odometer, my sales contract, the OBD scan results, and my unanswered messages to the dealership so potential buyers can see the facts for themselves. As reported to Carfax, it was extremely well-serviced with many new parts, all at no additional cost to me. Their asking price was already below-marker and we reached an agreement on selling price and trade-in value in a cordial manner and without any high-pressure tactics (no attempted add-on such as window etching, undercoating or other nonsense tactics employed by other dealers with whom I have previously dealt). Had purchased several vehicles at this dealership over 20 years or so going back to when it was Red Ferris Chevrolet. Always satisfied in the past. Last year bought a late model used Chevy Impala Premier. Vehicle had 70000 miles. We talked about condition of the car (looked and ran great). I told them I understood it was a used car and just out of warranty but wanted to be sure they had done an inspection and everything (especially safety related) was in decent condition. Was assured that the inspection had been done and all was well. Two weeks later heard a horrible metal on metal screech. Front brakes had NO pad left. They charged me over $500 to repair. When I called to talk to the manager Dale, salesman told me he gave Dale the message and he would call me back. After repeated attempts to reach him I gave up. After 20 years, I'll never buy another vehicle there, they lost all my maintenance business, would not recommend doing business with them. More
