Every aspect of my experience was exemplary. I have owned 27 cars over my 80 years and dealing with Coastal was totally devoid of any BS. Excellent Service & Sales teams I bought my 2012 VW Touareg TDI from Coastal this past October 2019. I previously used Coastal for all of my service needs for my 2011 VW Jetta Sportw I bought my 2012 VW Touareg TDI from Coastal this past October 2019. I previously used Coastal for all of my service needs for my 2011 VW Jetta Sportwagen TDI. Most recently my Touareg was down due to a failed fuel pump, for which Volkswagen of America could not source the parts due to COVID for several months. The Coastal team went above and beyond to take care of me and my family while the vehicle was out of service, and while repairing the vehicle once parts came in. Both Kevin (Service Manager) and Andrew (Service Advisor) were completely understanding of my situation, kept me informed every step of the way, and made sure to address every concern I had about the vehicle. I had my Touareg serviced at a dealer 10 miles closer prior to COVID and had a terrible experience. In fact,, this other dealership told me I needed new brakes to the tune of $1k for the front. I brought the Touareg to Coastal, they put it up on the lift and showed me that I did not yet need new brakes as they were still within specifications. I obtained a price quote from Coastal which was several hundred dollars cheaper and will be having them replace them in the future. I highly recommend Coastal VW if you are serious about properly maintaining your vehicle and want an honest, pleasant, and efficient service department to work with. More
Hello,After several weeks of non returned calls and Hello, After several weeks of non returned calls and unacceptable responses and no loaner cars available I was not happy with this current visit(s) Hello, After several weeks of non returned calls and unacceptable responses and no loaner cars available I was not happy with this current visit(s). Having a perfectly good and fine running car that could not start due to a faulty keyless ignition button. This situation could and did leave me unable to start or turn off the car for upwards of 3 minutes. Once leaving me stalled on a busy street unable to restart the car putting me in a dangerous situation. I don’t feel the gravity of the situation was felt by the staff of the service department . I finally had to speak with the service manger. Miraculously the “back ordered” part was found in Massachusetts (same state) and as shipped next day. The service manager while helpful in finding the part and getting me an appointment immediately did also not fully realize the situation. I have serviced the car at coastal since it was purchased other than once when I was away and had a service at another dealer. I feel as though the service center seems like they hold all the cards and we are at their mercy. I love my Golf R and take very good care of it. The reason I use the dealership for service as opposed to a private foreign motors shop is the relationship to the service Department which up until recently had been good. Once you purchase a car, service is your only contact with the dealership and a bad relationship will steer you away from futur service and purchases. I am in the market for a new Golf R once they become available again and I question my choice of dealership or even VW and may look elsewhere. I would like to discuss this further but if it is just to hear myself speak I’m not interested. Having this be a yes or no question is not good it should be rated never to definitely with choices in between. I chose yes only because I still plan to utilize Coastal and would not have put this much of my time into this response if I didn’t want the service depart to improve.
