While our sales agent was very friendly and when we realized, as we were signing with the finance manager, they hadn't set the interest, we would have walked out except for that agent. Taken Advantage of when most vulnerable On a recent family vacation to Disney we arrived in Deland on Saturday night around midnight after having driven from Pittsburgh. Arriving at the hote On a recent family vacation to Disney we arrived in Deland on Saturday night around midnight after having driven from Pittsburgh. Arriving at the hotel, I placed our 2007 Santa Fe in park only to have it roll backwards. I managed to get it turned off and the key removed and I secured the car with the emergency brake. We went to Coggin Deland Hyundai on Sunday morning. Lewis from sales greeted me warmly and took my information. He assured me that this would be taken care of first thing Monday morning. We got a rental car and continued to Disney feeling confident that we had made the right choice. As promised, we received a phone call from Eric early Monday morning. He advised me that they would tow the car to their facility and they would diagnosis the issue and revert. Later that morning, Eric called back to let me know that they had checked the transmission linkages and electronics but still did not know what the problem was. I was asked to authorize another hour of diagnostic time. A couple of hours later, Eric called to say that in fact the transmission was shot and needed to be replaced. Hyundai did not have a new transmission available so he had sourced a used transmission with 21,000mi on it from a scrap dealer. His estimate was 15hrs of labor at an installed cost of $5500 USD. We were prepared to walk away from the vehicle but first decided that a second opinion was the best option. We contacted the local Aamco Repair shop and arranged for them to pick up the vehicle and take a look. Early Tuesday morning, Aamco called to say that the linkage arm from the shifter to the transmission was broken and the repair cost was $300. We approved the repair and the car was ready for pickup by 1:00pm on Tuesday. We returned to Deland Tuesday afternoon to pickup our Santa Fe. Ironically while driving, I received a phone call from someone at Coggin Deland Hyundai following up on our satisfaction to our recent service visit. I explained the situation to the gentleman. I let him know that from my perspective it felt as though I had been taken advantage of. I requested a full refund of the monies paid. He let me know that this was not a decision he could make but that he would take the issue to the management so they would be prepared for my contact. The gentleman thanked me for not yelling at him as he said I certainly had full right to. We retrieved our car from Aamco and it was worked fine ever since. I inquired as to the cost of fixing the transmission if it had been the cause and was advised that to rebuild our transmission would have been approximately $3,000 USD. I have tried to contact Mr. Corey Dean and he has not done me the simplest courtesy of returning my contact. More

I have owned four Hyundai's over the years and have seen Hyundai grow from a relatively new name automaker to a world class competitor and quality automobile. One of the main reasons I buy a Hyundai is the warranty it brings. My daughter owns a 2012 accent that she bought from DeLand Hyundai through Lee Richardson, a low pressure easy to deal with salesman. She mainly uses the car to commute back and forth from Winter Park to UCF. About a month ago she called me and said the front end was making a thumping sound so I told her to take it to Hollar Hyundai near her house. She took the car there and they looked at it and told her the front tire needed to be balanced. After that she drove home and called me telling me the noise wasn't much better. Last week she called me and asked me to drop her off at the airport. As soon as I got in her car and drove it I knew either the front bearings were bad or the rack and pinion was bad. This really irritated me because Hollar had her car for 2 days and did not resolve the problem. I made an appointment last Friday with Eric Latham and explained to him and the service manager what the problem was we were experiencing. Within an hour of inspecting the car, Eric called to inform me both front wheel bearings were bad and needed to be replaced. He ordered the parts and now the car is as good as new. Will I buy another Hyundai, yes. Will I buy a new Hyundai from Hollar, no. I will buy my Hyundai from the dealership that honored the warranty and treated my family with respect, Service after the sale, that is what matters most Keith B. DeLuca More

This was a complicated purchase as it involved out of state and elderly family members. Lee was willing to meet my time strapped deadline by taking the automobile to my elderly family member’s home so that she could examine it and make a decision, as I was making the purchase on her behalf. The Santa Fe was immaculate, well equipped, delivered showroom clean, with a full tank of fuel. The final selling price was so reasonable that it felt like a purchase from family. More

AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP LIKE THE PLAGUE. I had gone on TrueCar and was quoted $17,538 for all the features I wanted in a Hyundai Elantra SE. I was given a contact person at Coggin. He told me I had gone on TrueCar and was quoted $17,538 for all the features I wanted in a Hyundai Elantra SE. I was given a contact person at Coggin. He told me many times that they would match or beat any price from other dealers. I found out later that was a lie. I called other dealers and told them my True Car equipped summary with features and price. I got a couple of dealers that said they would go down to a price of $16,399 and then another said $16,199. I came on Saturday and met with the dealer. He told me that some features on my list were not available and I test-drove a car. He also told me because of the features they put in like pin-stripe and tint that the car would be more money than TrueCar price .The other dealers would have given me a price of $16,199 before trade-in which I had asked for $1500, that is the only thing I received from Coggin Deland Hyundai. The total price of the car was $18,373 before trade in and everything. More than the TrueCar estimate, with the features I asked for. More than the price I would have gotten at other dealers like Jenkins - who told me to avoid them and they (Coggin) would tell me what I wanted to hear. I should have listened to them. More than the price at Holler Hyundai in Winterpark. I will tell every person I know and every review website not to go to Coggin Deland Hyundai.. THEY DO NOT HONOR ANY PRICE OR PRICE MATCH. More
